Perhaps a unique case of a sequel superseding the original, The Godfather II follows the Corleone crime family as it relocates to Nevada in the 1950s, with Michael (Al Pacino) as the new Don. The original cast returns with Robert Duvall outstanding as consigliere Tom Hagen and John Cazale as the tragic Fredo Corleone. Oscars include Best Picture, Director (Francis Ford Coppola) and Actor (Robert De Niro).

Without a doubt, the greatest sequel ever made! Dangerously close to being as good as the original.

The film is good but with the usual limitation of sequels. It struggled to link the two time periods and could have done better to concentrate on any one of them.

This is an unmissable series of four discs. Al Pacino and Robert di Niro make the movie (s). Very violent for its day and obviously spawned "The Sopranos".

Didn't enjoy this as much as the first movie - maybe because it was on 2 discs and we didn't receive the 2nd disc for some time after viewing the first, so lost continuity. Also found it hard to recognise characters because the movie was so dark, literally. Found it very hard to like Micheal Corleone (Al Pacino), he became such a proud, arrogant, bitter and revengeful man.

I didn't enjoy this as much as the first movie - the lighting was very dark so it was often hard to tell which characters were on the screen, and there are so many different characters that we had trouble working out who was who. Impressive to see a young Robert De Niro in one of his earlier roles.

To long to boring, no impact, always waiting for something to happen and nothing happened. Al Pacino doesn't play a good Don. I would recommend you only watch the first of the trilogy.

A little bit on the slow side, but for a classic that's what's expected I suppose. Well worth the watch. A very understandable movie.

Very slow and disjointed in many ways. Nowhere near as good as Godfather I.

The saga continues. Most people who like good drama's would enjoy this. Not quite as good as The Godfather. Al Pacino, as Michael was excellent. Story a little predictable but generally well acted and directed. You don't mess with the Mafia if you want to live. Unfortunately, revenge and deceit are still with us today in real life.

The best sequel to a film I have seen. Stands solidly on its own and is only surpassed by the first Godfather.
