This movie was a real dissapointment. Very 'by the numbers', which you don't expect from Altman. Feels very thin - like a made for TV movie based on a short story. Almost worth it for Robert Duvall's creepy (but extremely brief) performance.
Robert Altman is a great director and normally a good director of actors, but I'm not sure if he had much control over the over-acting of Kenneth Branagh. But apart from that, a reasonable thriller. Make sure you have waterproof clothes on when watching though.
This wasn't a bad film, but it was pretty dull. Anything that could have been a plot turn was driven past with conviction. This has a cast of heavy hitters doing precisely nothing. Presumably it was made on the back of the success of all the other Grisham novels and the magnitudinally better "Midnight in the garden of good and evil" film by Clint Eastwood.
