The last thing Kei remembers is the train running over his body, crushing him. Now he finds himself in a room filled with strangers, all recently deceased, all resurrected by the strange black sphere known only as Gantz.

Their reprieve from death may only be temporary, however. Unless they complete the brutal missions that Gantz assigns, none of them will live long enough to leave the room. Is this strange "afterlife" real, or just a dream? All Kei and the others know is that if they fail the mission, they will all die again.

Great action, but too many standing around scenes and ending lacked impact.

A lot of this Anime is based on "what a teenage boy realy thinks", frankly it doesnt work, you cant empathise with the lead, he makes you want to slap him around! It has all the basic sterotypes in it, but over exagerated and then some. Some parts realy shine though, but the "deeper meaning" - not to give it away, is so easily missed it makes Evangeleon's real meaning easy to understand in comparison. Animation varies from brilliant to just plain wierd, though is generaly exagerated. Good idea, poorly executed. not light viewing.

Brutal anime, aims straight for the face. Very dark and hostile, only watch if you like this kind of thing or are a hardcore anime fan

Interesting concept but as in all anime series, they drag on and spend so much time on insignificant details instead of getting on with the main story. If you are patient then it's worth a peek.

the story itself was interesting. but there were too many of those moments where they stand there for half an hour yelling at themselfs trying to make a decision which would take 10 seconds. and it seemed like the idea behind half the episodes was " lets see how manytimes we can say f*&k in half an episode.
