This movie had us hooked! Something drew us right into that world. Perhaps because it was a world we had not seen before. I will get it out again one day and see if it is as compelling as the first viewing. I would recommend to check it out. Personal taste will then let you decide if it's for you or not.

I love sci-fi and fantasy movies, so was excited when I read the blurb about this movie.
However, after watching this movie, it really was terrible! A waste of time, I barely could get through the movie.
Everything was poor, the lead actor was passable, but everything else (actors, direction, plot) was garbage.
Don't waste your time watching this!

This was supposed to be a movie about the supernatural. It could have been a documentry about the gangs of Footscray. Poor acting, poor direction, poor story, poor me for watching this garbage.

Can't believe some of the bad reviews I've seen on some websites.
I was totally engrossed. Considering this type of film is unorthodox for Australia and they had a small budget it was fantastic!
Nice mix of story, character building, emotion and action.

Good movie, not quite what I expected, but still was quite a good movie. The movie was quite dark along with the atmosphere. Liked the twist at the end though, didn't see that coming.

I found this movie to be Quite slow and hard to follow.
While the imagry was amazing the story seemed to lack depth. The audio is not so great either with such a wide range of volue I found myself having to turn it up to hear the seaking and turngin it down when music is playing.
Overall I was quite bored and confused

This movie isn't anything overly fantastic or complicated, but I actually didn't know it was an Australian movie made with a million bucks, it was that well-produced. It's a pretty decent action flick, and doesn't pretend to be anything else.

It's dark, hard to understand and very poor story line. It could have been done a whole lot better than it was, my advice dont go here. Your money is better spent on something else.

Was definitely expecting more than this film delivered. While the basic storyline of Arch Angels versus fallen angels gives plenty of room to create different tangents of story, this lacked depth. Do we really believe that Arch Angels sent from heaven to bring the light back to this fallen city need weapons such as guns and knives to battle evil? Maybe introducing a little less fiction, and focus on biblical lore would generate a much more believable and entertaining ride for the viewer. In my opinion, lacks vision. Two stars at best...

Hmmm, I'm not sure that all the people who gave Gabriel one and two star ratings watched the same movie as me.
I thouroughly enjoyed this film and the journey that the characters took me on. I guess you do have to remember that it is an Australian film so it didn't have the budget of a hollywood flick but if you watch the extra features you get a real appreciation for what the creative team acheived with the little resources they had.
This movie will definitely be making its way to my collection as I really enjoyed it!

Now this is an interesting movie. I did not know what to expect when I put myself down for this movie and yes, it certainly was very interesting as I never expected to see a movie where Angels use guns and knives as they murder their enemies.
There definately is a twist at the end and I won't mention it for if you want to know, go watch it for yourself. It is a bit gory.

Not as bad as I expected after reading other reviews. Yeah, it has wooden acting, horrible dialogue and poor attempts at American accents, but I have seen a lot worse so it gets 2 stars. 1 and a half would have been more what I wanted, but there's no half stars...

I quite enjoyed the movie. It was a little dark and a bit visual. Some parts were a little slow but that just meant more time to enjoy Andy Whitfield. I doubt this is a movie for everyone. You'll either like it or hate it.

I thought this was going along okay then all of a sudden it turned to rubbish and then it topped it off with one of those CRAP endings that left you thinking what was all that about. Why make a movie if your only going to end it with a CRAP ending, show us the ending first then I wouldn't have watched the other 80 odd minutes.

I was told this was a B-grade movie before I watched it and so I let my expectation of an Underworld-type experience go. This was a brilliant way to approach this movie because I really enjoyed it. All it is is a modern adaptation of an old story and I think parts of this film were really creative. Yes, there were moments that made you laugh when you probably shouldn't have laughed but that's okay too. I'm actually going to watch it again. If you're religious then it's probably not for you as it walks the razor's edge of blasphemy but that's all I'm going to say otherwise i'll give the story away.

An interesting choice for an Australian made movie. Stylistically good, and in keeping with the pergatory theme.
Acting ok. The main protagonist's approach was dead and flat, lacking in passion. Even given the final outcome of the film I'd expect some passion from the main baddy.
Ending was a bit weak... but at least not the happily ever after that we have come to expect from American films.
Worth a watch when your queue gets low....

The morning after watching this movie I couldn't remember much about what had happened - never a good sign. Fair enough concept for the plot but perhaps a bit of "slow reveal" of what is was all about could have added some intrigue. Even the action sequences were disappointing.

Hugely disappointing. A good concept trashed by poor scripting and stylised acting. Incongruent behaviours and gutter language make these achangels look and sound like squabbling, violence-prone street punks, so totally flawed they appear incapable of exhibiting any of the qualities we might otherwise associate with such exalted characters as "archangels".

Great effects but oh, my God, what crap dialogue! Surely this was written by a first year scriptwriting student who bypassed high school?
I'm pretty laid back when it comes to quality becuase I'm a fan of b-grade films, but this one is off the alphabet scale. Even the sexy cover image is non-existant in the film.

The storyline was great and the dialogue was simple yet powerful and I found myself not wanting to miss a beat as it drew me in deeper with the character's quest. Dark, yet mesmerizing I found this a great insight into notions of good verse evil, religion and myth. If you like stories about Angels and the battles between good and evil, this movie is not your average hollywood blockbuster nor is it a romanticised version, homegrown it gives a unique spin on the ethereal world and darkness within. It may not be for everyone but if you like flicks such as the Prophecy trilogy (Christopher Walken) or Constantine, this may be for you.

Weak, almost unintelligible plot; bad acting; overuse of after-effects; not particularly likeable characters. This 'good vs evil' movie attempted to develop the gritty mood of 'Sin City', but came off as trying too hard. If I had a choice between re-watching this movie and beating myself in the head repeatedly with a large stick, it would be a tough decision.
