Interesting Movie about a shunned topic. I thought it was done in good taste
Enjoyable movie. Not really incestuous as incest is really about sex between related males and females. No chance of addled progeny here. A very moving love story. If that bothers you don't watch it.
It’s a good movie, just nothing fantastic, the whole storyline was great just didn't work that well if it had a bigger budget would have been fantastic, and besides that it was watchable! And it had a good ending..
Whether this is a story of incest if a question on which to ponder and, essentially this is where the movie goes. Others have complained that it's a slow movie. It is slow but in doing so it seeks to resolve the feeling of the men towards each other. If the viewer is willing to take that path also they are in for a rewarding experience.
Found it to be rather boring...
Its all been said by those rating 4 and 5 stars, just place it in queue!
A beautifully told story that will stay with you long after it ends.
The sensitivity of this subject, half brothers falling in love and accepting that they may have been in love from a very young age, gave the movie a timidity from which it could not escape. Admittedly, the love scenes were beautifully shot and the actors incredibly believable. The boy’s parents were also believable; especially the uneasiness over their sons’ intimacy towards each other from a very early age, somewhat quite beautiful in its innocence.
However, the direction was ponderous, precious and slowly paced. Almost every scene was too long, reiterating over and over the same point.
The story was over written and repetitious, too many scenes said the same thing. The actors, though they tried valiantly, failed to save this movie from being monotonous.
Finally, the print was reduced in size, which was odd to say the least and while it was clear and in focus it was annoying.
A stunning movie, beautifully told story, gorgeous leads, they both really grow on you and leave you wanting MORE! At first, you kinda feel awkward watching their lives unfold and their relationship develop the way it does but before long, it makes you realise that love really has no boundaries, only humans do.
This was a great movie. The story deals with a very sensitive subject of the love between two half brothers, however the acting and the relationship between the two characters is so believable and heartfelt you can't help rooting for them. The music is wonderful and the cinematography is fantastic. I loved this so much I ended up getting a copy for my very own.
A beautiful moving story of 2 brothers growing up together loving one another as best of brothers under the watchful eyes of parents who decide they need to be separated, but still the bond is there. Good movie, I recommend
The theme of forbidden incestuous love sounds like a mental torment by the family and the lovers themselves, but this movie has turned this theme into a carefree pure love story between two people. Sceneries of happy family dinners, parties, get togethers and picturesque water (pool and ocean scenes that signifies the bond of the lovers and their family) are absolutely fantastic. You may be left with "really? you really don't think there's nothing wrong with this situation???" feeling...but overall, it is a beautiful 'feel good' movie. You can't help but to be happy for these lovers who care about each other so much, and admire their families for their acceptance of love.
strange, but overall a really good movie. worth a look at!
Beautiful movie, great cinematography, excellent accompanying music.
I liked this one a lot, but thought it flat-lined a little in the middle. The early life of the two main characters was very interesting. This is a worthwhile watch and certainly touched me. Don't miss it.
This is such a classic take on forbidden love. I've never in my life watched a movie that has touched me as much as this. I can't stop crying! Best movie I've seen in years. If you haven't watched From Beginning to End yet, watch it ASAP! The music, the acting, the story. I feel so priveleged to have watched this masterpiece :)
Two half brothers in Rio grow close as they grow into adults. Acting is ok but there are long extended periods of no conversation and lots of scenery or intimacy. The story line is weak but the highlight is the beautiful music used during the film! I would score it as 2 popcorns (out of 5)
