A good bit of entertainment. I love Colin
when i first saw this i thought it was alright but i just saw the original. this movie is pathetic in comparison to the original. check out the original!
Both version of this movie suck?
I was surprised by the top line cast in a vampire movie so thought it worth a look. Funny and moderately entertaining even though the outcome was a no brainer.
A piece of rubbish. Really. Poor acting (yes even Toni Collette's go at it) and ridiculous script.
The only quality was the acting by the charismatic and creepy main Dracula character.
Same silly story line but I like the actors so this was ok
Brilliant! I loved it. Scary and funny at the same time
This was ok, not terrible, not great. Some eye-candy here and there, a coupla funny lines, a coupla ok performances. One thing: I cant help but think that Simon Baker is one of the only Aussies to have authentic-sounding american accents. So few of them really get it right... imo including Toni Collette, but thats an aside. 2/5
I didn't expect this to be good but it was really really bad. I couldn't finish it. Too obvious and no suspense whatsoever.
SORRY NO WAY DOES IT LIVE UP TOTHE ORIGINAL BIG MISS
After so many other Vampire movies this movie held its own against them. I enjoyed this and the main 400 year old Vampire, HOT.
Nah, not that great, these vampire movies are getting I suppose, similar. But still watched till end, wouln't re-watch unless nothing to see and a rainy day.
A very "run of the mill" vampire with no surprises. Too many good movies available to waste time with the likes of this one
Colin Farrell was perfectly cast and David Tennant was perfect channeling Russel Brand. The guy from kick ass Mintz plass or whatever his name is was sadly wasted though. Not as good as the original but still worth a watch.
I noticed Marti Noxon was one of the consultants on this (from Buffy and Angel behind-the-scenes fame). It's set in Las Vegas so had a few nightscapes littered throughout the movie which were pretty impressive. On the down side, the film has a seriously impoverished storyline. Acting was OK...good pop-corn/mind-off movie, I suppose.
I agree with some other reviewers, Light horror-comedy. Quite enjoyable.
I really enjoyed this film and certainly no-where near the worst horror movie I've seen. Pretty good cast, especially David Tennant, who shines at everything he seems to do. Good fun.
Stupid vampire movie, not at all interesting!
Colin Farell played a very good part as the sexy and mysterious vampire.
When I saw the trailer for this I almost didn't watch the movie - the trailer does it no favours! It's not amazing, but it's entertaining and not bad for a bit of a silly horror movie.
Not a bad remake. Colin Farrell as a vampire, yeah it works. He saves the movie really. The original which I saw wasn't a great movie. I am not sure why we needed a remake of Fright night. Hulloooo anyone out there with original ideas???
Do not waste your money, its a very ordinary movie, apart from Colin Farrell.
A teenager suspects that his new neighbor is a vampire. Corny but watchable. Popcorn movie
Never seen the original, I got this to see former Doctor Who David Tennant spread his acting wings. He was suitably Tennantish so I was happy. As for vampires...whatever. Is anyone even scared of them anymore. It's not exposure to sunlight that will eventually kill vampires, it's over-exposure to the consuming public in movies, television and junk young adult novels.
A vampire movie sticking to the original roots - blood, crosses, wooden stakes and not to mention plenty of pretty faces. Has a good pace to the story and its definately a no brainer. A good watch when there's least expectations of it.
teenager movie. boy movie
Average. If Colin Farrell wasn't such a damned good actor, his hypnotic, tongue in cheek creepiness lifting the whole film, I would have given it one star. Farrell fans, and curious fans of the original, only. Everyone else will be bored sh****ss.
Enjoyed this movie, better than the original.
Loved it, Colin is eye candy and great to see the original vampire makeing a cameo appearance!!!!!! Who else picked up on it. Better story line than the original. Must see the original for all the new kids out there...
Didn't see the original, don't need to. I don't like Farrel except in 'in Bruges" but he played this frightening part well. Worth a watch.
Colin Farrell plays a good role. Hot cast. Good effects.
It was ok, but a bit corny and predictable. I like murder mystery movies, British Detective series or movies, more suspense.
enjoyed this even if it was just to watch Colin Farrell
Pretty average. I was expecting more from this: more laughs, more scares.
Loved this movie!! Colin Farrell plays a great vampire but Christopher Mintz-Plasse was REALLY good in this movie! This movie is sooo entertaining, funny at times and has it's fair share of scary moments. Definitely recommend!!!
As much as I love the 'Twilght Saga' it was nice not to have 'vegetarian' vampires and 'inprinting' werewolves this time and go back to see a good old neck biting vampire sink his teeth into the helpless love interest of the 'hero' of the story. My Husband still rolled his eyes and started the age old discussion on why women always find vampires so romantic, appealing and handsome? ? ? ? ? If you like vampire movies you will love this one.
I loved this movie. David Tennant from Dr Who, the kid from KickAss, and Colin Farrell. Awesome effects, great movie, not too gory, just right. Cool!
Same as Michelle below if you like vampire movies you will enjoy this. I enjoyed this movie maybe because I havent seen the original and because Im obsessed with David tennant who plays a character although very different to his old dr who character. It is very funny which benefits those that don't like full on horrors. I recommend this movie to everyone
first 66% (1 hr) boring & very slow. Did warm up after that. Definitely not as good as original. Remakes are becoming more & more tedious. recomend watching the original for full effect of intended entertainment viewing
Maybe it's just me, but remakes are inviting comparison. Compared with the original I couldn't help but think: the music's not as good; the script is not good; the locations are not good, etc. etc.
This one was not shot on film - the original was shot in beautiful 35mm anamorphic. Nice that there was a salute to Chris Sarandon (he played the excellent vampire in the original) who was given a cameo. I think Brad Fiedel's musical teeth were really getting sharp when he did the score for the original - I think there're a few salutes to Fiedel in this score, but only, it seems, as if to say, "I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy!"
I would not recommend this remake to you if you've seen - and really enjoyed - the original! And if you haven't seen the (1985) original yet, I can't imagine recommending this remake to you either.
If ya like vampires you'll enjoy it, colin is good to watch too along with our aussie toni collete
