The film was ok to sit through although i am not a big fan of Vince Vaughn, but if you like his movies than you will love this one as it is a typical vince movie. There were a few funny bits through the movie but i'm not interested in stupid funny movies, but you must see it if you like movies like scary movie and american pie.

Thought this movie would be a bit of a dud but suprisingly the whole family enjoyed it. Some funny scenes. Particularly enjoyed the one where Santas brother attends a siblings anonymous meeting. It was quite funny.

Not one of Vince's goodies. A bit too serious for younger kids with more adult directed jokes however to kiddish for an adult to enjoy. Don't bother

Vince Vaughn just doesn't have the screen presence or star power to pull off the lead role in a film like this. As others have said, he plays the same bittersweet character in every movie he does. The CGI elves really distracted me too, why couldn't they have just used real midgets (or dwarves, whatever the PC word is for little people). Predictable, not enough fun. Kids may like it, but I didn't.

Nice movie for the whole family, the younger ones could laugh and get it, the older ones can watch it cos Vince Vaughn and Paul Giamatti are in it, mum can watch it cos Vince Vaughn is in it. Funny enough to watch-even in April.

Not bad, although I couldn't figure out if it was made for adults or children. I swear Vince Vaughn only ever plays one type of character.

Very different slant on the usual Father Christmas story. Good entertainment value without being outstandingly brilliant.

The kids loved it. It was good but not gripping. Easy to understand the siblings feeling shadowed. Good Christmas show for kids of all ages.

The most intriguing aspect of this formulaic and derivative yuletide comedy is working out what tempted its distinguished trio of stars to sign up in the first place! The conversely undistinguished director DAVID DOBKIN plays it totally straight, "cute and cuddly" and (regrettably) totally inoffensive in this tale of Santa's little known and emotionally tortured big brother (VINCE VAUGHN playing...you guessed it!.... VINCE VAUGHN) who nearly brings Xmas unstuck. In almost a carbon copy "feel" of the infinitely (yikes!!!) superior THE SANTA CLAUSE (and its sequels) and ELF, this cutesy modern fable explores the true meaning of Xmas and family and while the embedded morals may be partly honourable (and there's an amusing scene with a therapy group of underappreciated siblings : FRANK STALLONE,STEPHEN BALDWIN ,ROGER CLINTON: the real flaw of this disappointing comedy is the criminal waste of thesps PAUL GIAMATTI (as the big guy in the red suit) ,KEVIN SPACEY (as an ice cold "efficiency expert") and the distinguished supporting cast (KATHY BATES,RACHEL WEIZ,MIRANDA RICHARDSON) who all sleepwalk through their "cardboard cut-out" characters.
