Do yourself a favour, hire this classic, watched it many times over the years never get sick of it. One of the all time great British comedies
A classic romantic comedy. Gets better every time you watch it!
Tried to give it a go! Just musn't have been in the mood!
It's a cracker and I love it
This is a movie that acutally gets better with the 2nd or 3rd viewing. Great cast and a nice balance between humour, romance and poignancy. Definitely worth watching.
An engaging British comedy with disasters and embarrassments coming thick and fast and a bit of serious drama now and then. Charles and his friends meet at a wedding of one of them. Charles who has been disappointed in his short-term love affairs, spots the beautiful Carrie during the reception and they meet up later at the local inn. But next morning Carrie is off to America and Charles, bitterly disappointed, only manages to meet up with her again at his friends' weddings. The movie is mainly concerned with Charles but we are kept up-to-date with his friends' relationships, some blossoming, some dying. But by the end we are left in no doubt as to who are the winners and who are the losers. The wedding ritual changes little, but what goes on with in it can be both serious and hilarious, as this movie demonstrates.
A classic feel-good movie.
Just a great, feel-good movie - perfect for a rainy night in with either your girlfriends or a loving boy.
This is the 2nd time I have watched this film and while enjoying it, it did not have the same appeal this time neverthe less I still enjoyed it.
Wonderful movie but the disc was a bit damaged
Really good early Hugh Grant movie. Thoroughly enjoyable
Still holds up after all this time (more than Love, Actually for example). Only Andie Macdowell seems miscast and wooden.
Seen it too many times to be too enthused about it. One of the classics, though, and if you haven't seen it yet, it's definitely a must.
I watched this movie when it came out and then three times since. It is witty, gentle, silly but somehow heartwarming. I recommend it for a time when you want to watch something light and unchallenging.
Well everyone else has seen it so why not me! But seriously, it looks so dated already and very silly. Thank god for Simon Callow for making it all 'so much fun!' lol
This movie opens with a fantastic scene and really just gets better from there. The funeral is one of the saddest moments in a comedy in a long time. Great cast, great script, great soundtrack.
if you can get round or past the "f" word then you are doing well and it then becomes a good movie that is entertaining
I rented this to see Charlotte Coleman (RIP) who as always is fantastic in this. If you fast forward through all of Hugh Grant's scenes it's bearable - great English cast.
loved the movie when I saw it originaly and still able to enjoy the second time round.
Good value - but they now all seem so young!
