Invite your friends for a silly evening watching this classic comedy full of spoofs, puns, parody. It has got it all: a dance, a song, a romance, a dose of suspense/airport disaster and even a juggling scene. Features distinct fashion and interior designs from the seventies, wall tiles in shades of avocado, mirror disco ball, brown curtains, etc. How can you resist it?
I smiled several times, it was that hilarious. DVD Contains an extra feature: commentary by the directors; you learn a bit from it and at second watching you notice some moments/gags you missed at the first watching, it is that densy packed with humour. Highly recommended silly comedy classic. 4 stars at least.
This was hilarious to watch when it first came out. Watching it all these years later was less hilarious, but if you're in a silly mood and love bad puns, you'll love it.
After hearing so many good reviews about this movie, I had to see it. What a disappointment. It was awful. Didn't even chuckle once. Maybe you have to be over 25 to think this is a good film. I wouldn't recommend it.
Hilarious classic, in the style of Naked Gun. Have to appreciate purely silly humour though!
Easily one of the funniest films of all time. Every gag is perfectly timed and executed. Leslie Nielsen is a comedic god.
Good times.
Better film all them years ago. Just like bread this one doesn't age well, the jokes are so much a apart of todays vernacular, it's gone a bit stale.
The spoofs have lost some of their relevance over time, as has a sequence where one of the child actors starts talking to an actor/basketball player about his recent performance in the NBA. Some of the extended sequences where Ted recounts his experiences in the war had me sympathising with the passengers who'd rather kill themselves than keep listening. A lot of the sight gags have kept their freshness, though, and the ground crew in the third act will never get old. As with most comedies, best watched with friends.
This is a pastiche of many funny scenes sendng up movies from the 1980s. Cliche
after cliche is satirised and there are many great moments. This is a very
watchable movie, perhaps showing its age a little, but I think anyone would still
enjoy it. For some reason the original title of Airplane was retitled Flying High for
its Australian release.
One of my favourite movies from yesteryear. Still great for a laugh. It's amazing there are still funny bits that i hadn't noticed before.
Funny in parts, but too slapstick for my taste.
