Johnny Rebel (Scott Gurney) is the ultimate fantasy man: a chiseled Adonis and the biggest star in gay porn. The fact that he's straight doesn't seem to make a difference to anyone. Not to Julie (Roxanne Day), his lap-dancer girlfriend, who promises to take care of him and dreams of having children. Not to Sean (Michael Cunio), a young filmmaker whose obsession leads him to be Johnny's public cameraman and private "fluffer." And not even to Johnny, who lives for the money, the adulation-and the drugs. But then Johnny starts to self-destruct. In the City of Dreams, you should watch what you wish for.

A very interesting film about the gay adult entertainment (porn) industry. Very much like "Boogie Nights" but a disappointing and sad ending. I suppose that it was purely depicting the reality of gay-for-pay porn stars and what their lives are really like. The sex scenes are highly erotic and the hunk, Scott Gurney, was incredibly sexy in this portrayal of the porn star. Worth watching for the insight and eroticism.

Pathetic. A bunch of immature emotional cripples who can't grow up. The dialogue was woreful, the acting non existent.

This movie was pretty boring. The story didn't really go anywhere at all. We don't exactly find out what happens to the main characters. The acting was bad, the quality of the footage is pretty pixelated at times. I was so tempted to turn it of so many times. I wish I had. 2 out of 5 stars.

Guinevere Turner god bless her, she is in just about every gay film,. Sadly so few of them are any good and this is no exception.

Not impressed at all with the movie. Low budget, low acting ability - just all round low

A bit wooden without any great or surprising plot development, & an unsatisfying ending, as if the writers did not know how to end the story. Good eye candy but really little more than soft porn without the juicy bits.

Blondie fans will love Debbie Harry's little cameo in this movie! It's the age old story of the gay boy who falls for the straight guy but this time in a peculiar environment, and with unexpected outcomes.

I suppose this movie pretends to have some deep message about the perils of the gay porn industry. But there are some very funny moments behind the supposed emotional tragedies of the characters. Perhaps best thing is that it seems quite educational for the budding porn stars in all of us.
