Reminded me a little of one of my faves, Shaun of the dead, because the mystery/noir/detective elements were so well integrated with the comedy. Fletch is such a charming and cool character that I savored every scene and every development and line. Great compelling film that never compromises on being primarily a comedy.

Chevy at the peak of his comedy powers. Fans of the cult comedy Caddyshack can again enjoy Chevy at his deadpan best. With an early Geena Davis in a cameo support this movie hums along at a cracking pace. As an under cover reporter on the trail of the chief of police the script allows Chevy to weave his comic magic with no shortage of situations where he can transform himslef by using disguise to get to the bottom of the story. Just remeber he does have 'rubber gloves' in fact he has a 'lease with an option to buy'. Three Stooges meets All The Presidents Men.

Classic Chevy Chase. Plenty of humour and a plot to boot!
