Director: David Fincher

A ticking-time bomb insomniac (Edward Norton) and a slippery soap salesman (Brad Pitt) channel primal male aggression into a shocking new form of therapy. Their concept catches on, with underground "fight clubs" forming in every town, until a sensuous eccentric (Helena Bonham Carter) gets in the way and ignites an out-of-control spiral toward oblivion. The New York Times raved that FIGHT CLUB "just might require another viewing". Here's your chance. Brace yourself..

I didn't think this movie would be my kind of thing but it was recommended to me so I watched it. Really glad I did. This is a very interesting, good movie. Although quite violent in places the story line keeps it together and is one of the rare movies that kept me guessing and not 100% sure how it was going to end much of the way through it. You do need to watch it to understand what's going on, it's not a movie you can have going in the background.

Very good movie! The violence got to me, but didn't undermine the total feeling of awe this movie left me in...

So many people misunderstand the film. It is not an action movie, and the twist doesn't matter. It's about modern society, the human condition and male aggression. The problem is mainstream audiences will see it, and unfortunately like it without realising it's message.

This is a disturbing film based on the tribulations of the main character who is also the narrator. He is not your typical person but it is easy to identify with his disillusionment with modern materialism. Another theme is the increasingly irrelevance of traditional male characteristics such as aggression, which leads to the formation of the clandestine fight clubs. The characters are fascinating and layered. It's all very manic so you'll probably have to watch more than once to understand fully.

What a movie! Gripping rollercoaster ride from beginning to end. A character with a complex and tangled mind who is both out of control and absolutely orderly. Forget the popcorn, it'll be forgotten and cold by the time this movie ends.

Probably not a bad idea for a film but Brad Pitt cannot play a tough guy. Totally unbelievable. Was falling asleep through it and turned it off half way through.

Was it such a great twist? I found it really contrived. This film seems very well made, cinematographically, and really well acted - and I loved the beginning, but then couldn't believe how quickly it deteriorated... over all, it is ok, I guess. Mainly ridiculously violent with lots of bad simplistic pontificating. Edward Norton, as always, and also Brad Pitt act really well... just not sure why they would have wanted to for the sake of this material. I am outvoted here, though, so maybe I am missing something.

A 'cult movie'. It's weird in the way it's told and the story line itself. It is an interesting story and keeps you entertained through out. Just a bit weird. Good movie though.

I was attracted to this movie on the strength of Brad Pitt. However, I was rewarded with a mind bending ride. It is a dark, oppressive and bewildering movie. The twist/resolution is staged almost right at the end of the movie, & if you'll like me, would have spent a best part of the time wondering where this movie is going. Aside all this, you would be entertained by HelenBohamCarter's deliciously dyfunctional chain-smoking creature, that seems to haunt Norton's nightmares.

I thought this was going to be some interesting take on masculinity in contemporary society but while there was a little bit of this, it soon turned into an unbelievable thriller with no depth.

As long as you're prepared for the violence, it's a whole lot better than the famous parts of the plot ("first rule of Fight Club is...") might suggest.

Clever film - clever direction, clever script, clever casting, clever acting. A bit too in love with its own bloody cleverness. Did it really need to be so long? Once the big 'surprise' is revealed plotline got lost and had nowhere to go. Still, excellent acting from Brad, Ed & Helena.
