A suspense-filled glimpse into the dark corridors of political power, Fair game is a riveting action-thriller based on the autobiography of real-life undercover CIA operative Valerie Plame (Naomi Watts), whose career was destroyed and marriage strained to its limits when her covert identity was exposed by a politically motivated press leak. As a covert officer in the CIA's Counter-Proliferation Division, Valerie leads an investigation into the existence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Valerie's husband, diplomat JOE WILSON (Sean Penn), is drawn into the investigation to substantiate an alleged sale of enriched uranium from Niger. But when the administration ignores his findings and uses the issue to support the call to war, Joe writes a New York Times editorial outlining his conclusions and ignites a fire-storm of controversy.

The acting was very good by both Sean and Naomi, but because it was based on a true story, we found it was a bit slow.

True story, quite good if you like political scandals. I found it a tad boring. Probably because I had to think too much. Ha ha

This was enjoyed more by the partner than me. I am a fan of Sean Penn but although I think Noami Watts is a good actress, I find the roles she picks tend to annoy me. Still worth a watch.

Good story if you have some understanding of the background. It does tell the story of the corruption in the US government that was determined to go to war in Iraq and the acting from the 2 leads is very good. It is not fast paced but does hold you if you approach it as you would to read a book! We did enjoy it.

A bit too slow in places. Not really the story I thought it would be. The last half hour was the best.
