I adore this movie! I saw it at the cinema and I've watched it again after a lengthy break and still love it. Just incredible acting from all involved, esp Sandra Bullock who is very authentic as the grieving mother, and the amazing performance of young Thomas Horn, who was discovered as a contestant on the quiz show Jeopardy prior to this, his first acting role. What an amazing young man he is, I can't wait to see what he does next on film, he is mesmerising. And yes, this movie is very touching and at times heartbreaking as it deals with the loss of a beloved husband and father in the 9/11 Twin Towers tragedy, but it is not maudlin or overly sentimental. My boys, ages 11 & 14, and my husband loved it too - my husband said it was much better than the book, and I definitely agree with him.
