I am sorry but I hated the film but I thought the young fellow was very good
Wow. Young Thomas (actor) is incredible. Very touching story with great casting and directing. Quite unique and one they should all be proud of having made.
Brillant outside the box.
Loved this movie! Impossible to believe that this is the first role for the main actor (the young boy) What an amazing actor he is.
Congratulations to the writers and director of this movie. Sensational! I could feel the grief and fear of the child as if I was actually experiencing it myself. My tissues were needed right throughout. One cannot but feel that the grief felt by this one family is magnified by the more than 2000 people affected by 9/11. Not to mention all those families affected by loss and tragedy in all world conflicts and natural disasters. A wonderfully produced movie.
The boy was terrific in it, well acted movie.
we both enjoyed this movie was very moving.
Shows the effects of terrorists sick minded culture.
what an incredible story. You need to love detail to keep on going with this one. Sixth Sense and pay it forward fans will love this tale. Great acting, engrossing film
Saw the end of it when overseas and couldnt wait to get it through here. Amazing insight into how it was and may have been for so very many in the bombing. What an actor that boy is. Very sad, intesting, insightful and downright well done.
Such a poignant tale of what it may well have been like for those who lost someone in the Twin Towers on the "Worst Day". Everyone was brilliant and that young boy should well and truly have a career ahead of him. Sandra Bullock has really grown as an actor, and she plays the role of the mother very sympathetically and honestly. Can't stop thinking about it.
Loved this morning as it shows what it is like to be living with Aspgergers.
I loved this movie. It seems a bit strange at the beginning, and I thought I was in for another "Hugo". However, it's well worth persevering, and keep in mind the boy clearly has Aspberger's, and is not just an irritating know all. The young actor gives an amazing performance, as does Sandra Bullock. This film was very moving and has stayed with me all week.
great movie. It covers grief in a wonderful way. Having lost my father at the boy's age I understood what he was going though even though I lost my father sixty years ago.
very long and boring and sad
enjoyed that film where the hero is a little boy, lost but trying to find his way in his heart, in his life, in his city...
lovely sandra bullock as a supportive mum!
This movie was very slow to start with and I nearly gave up on it. I persisted through, and ended up really enjoying it. It's a bit different, but quite good.
Don't give up.. It was great!
Watched the trailers, had great actors but found the movie boring and hard to get into.
Interesting movie..love Tom Hanks but it is mostly about the young son. Worth watching.
Wasn't sure about this one but surprisingly turned out to be a very enjoyable movie. Recommend.
I cried....a lot! Very good movie, but be warned - you will need a box of tissues if you know how it feels to lose a loved one.
Not sure about this one. We did not finish it.....
I really thought this was a stunning film with brilliant performances. It's not your typical storyline. Just brilliant.
A wonderful warm and heartfelt movie. Not the normal American rubbish. Even my husband (who usually like actions) enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend.
Neary fell asleep watching this preposterously unlikely story. Very missable.
Boring!! Turned it off half way through!
That was one annoying kid! I could have put up with him more if the storyline was less predictable.
Excellent....Thomas Horn is an amazing talent.
What a great movie , brilliant storyline very entertaining
what a wonderful moving and emotional movie. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
WOW...wow...wow!!! What an emotionally charged and poignant movie. I was totally captivated the entire 2 hours. Would thoroughly recommend it.
I was really looking forward to watching this movie, but thought it was way too long & quite boring. The boy I found quite annoying & the whole build-up of finding out the story behind the key was a real let down in the end. Just a shame both Tom Hanks & Sandra Bullock weren't featured a lot more, there wasn't enough of them.
This was a fantastic movie. Intense at an emotional level. Not a depressing movie, but tugs at your heart strings. Would reccomend this movie to everyone!
Wow, a film that punches you in the guts. Left feeling empty. Fabulous acting. A film I think I could only watch once.
i really liked it, my husband wasn't so impressed. sad and confronting sept 11 themes but uplifting and not depressing.
This movie, althought a little long was quite interesting although a little long.
was quite engaging. I became quite attached to to boy and where he would go next and who he would encounter on his search to find where a key belonged that was with his fathers things. I liked how everything weaved itself together in the end.
Very good, very emotional. This film will stay with you. Worth a watch.
I found it quite boring, even though he had Aspergers. Yet I found the movie Temple Grandin a good movie. She was Autistic.
Fantastic movie a real tear jerker. Great story line , brilliantly acted.BRAVO
Wow!!! Watched it twice this weekend... Absolutely absorbed b y the story line both times. Definitely one for the collection. A little heavy on the emotions side. And the kids aspergers ( which test came inconclusive lol) held you back from balling your eyes out. Very well written and compelling. Can't wait to see more well written movies about this Tragic event. Cannot even begin to comprehend what these people feel. <3
Awesome movie, loved it loved it loved it. The boys idiocyncrasis make the movie even more compelling and loved his hunt and the people he met along the way. Do yourself a favour and watch it.
good story, though had to concetrate at t first
A very unusual film with a compelling storyline, having a Grandson that suffers daily with Aspergers I fully agree with the previous posting that the young boy shows every sign of the condition but it is not mentioned? Tom Hanks as always is brilliant as the Dad, not so much 'enjoyed' the movie but I was also 'absorbed' from the very beginning to the end. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this film if you want something a little heavier.
Had me totally absorbed all the way through. Little boy with probable Aspergers played brilliantly, all supporting roles beautifully done.
Loved the story and acting ...you will need tissues
What a disappointment! I thought that I was going to see a Tom Hanks movie, but instead ended up watching some annoying kid waffle rubbish for 2 hours!
Didn't like it. The kid, the main character talks way too much. I quickly couldt stand him, I felt annoyed by this young actor. When a story is written to make you feel sad and it actually doesn't because the characters in it seem antipathic, unreal in the way they talk, behave...kind of everyone's beautiful. A very average flick with an aging Tom Hanks in a second role and a finale even more implausible. 2 stars for Max Von Sydow who had the character I felt the most for.
Great movie... although the little boy character irritated me a bit
This movie is a tragic tale of those who lost loved ones in Sept. What a tale of overcoming all odds of grief and despair. How must have people really coped? How did life go on for them? One boys search leads you to ponder how you would survive yourself. The boy was a good actor and the role not easy to play but unfortunately the movie was slow to watch.
A nine-year-old amateur inventor, Francophile, and pacifist searches New York City for the lock that matches a mysterious key left behind by his father, who died in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. A rollercoaster ride for me. Inconsistent throughout. Brilliant in parts and below average in others. Tom and Sandra played second fiddle to wonderful young actor Thomas Horn.
beautiful movie, had me in tears!
Saw this at the movies and loved it. Amazing acting by young Thomas Horn, playing a bright, precocious 9 yr old autistic boy, Oskar Schell. Oskar's father (Tom Hanks) dies when the the World Trade Centre is hit by planes on 9/11, and the movie is about Oskar's search to come to terms with what has happened to his father. Beautiful supporting characters by Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock & Max Von Sydow. Tugs at the heartstrings, yes you will need a tissues, but also very heartwarming.
