Jack Benteen (Nick Nolte) and Cash Bailey (Powers Boothe) were once childhood friends, but those days are long behind them. Cash now runs a drug syndicate at the Mexican border while Jack is a hard-nosed Texas ranger. Complicating matters is Sarita (maria Conchita Alonso), a woman which both men have loved for a long time, who decides to return to the arms of Cash as a voluntary hostage to make sure Jack stays away from the drug lord's operation. When a covert team of supposedly dead war heroes arrive, the action really begins culminating in a spectacular final gunfight.
