The Experiment (2010)

Anyone who has been to uni and studied psychology is probably aware of the experiment this is based on. If you visit the website for the actual experiment you will see that there are clear parallels between the two. I liked that the movie does this to try and keep it identified as being inspired by real events as opposed to just a sensationalised hollywood blockbuster. While this movie IS clearly hollywoodised I found it very enjoyable in that the core concepts of the movie were the same as those both investigated by and realised in the actual experiment - those being how people fit into the roles assigned to them and change mentally and psychologically according to these roles. The directors shock you with how powerfully this change occurs and the dramatic effects that it has - just as the uni students and researchers found happening in real life. I found adrien brody very enjoyable to watch and was happy to find him in the movie after seeing his king kong and predators performances. Whittaker is always a joy to watch as well.

What a twisted movie!!!!! Felt ill at times... worth watching!

Thought provoking film about human nature, greed and power - the ending was rushed and complete button - was good up to there. It wasn't bad - although not great.

DON'T BOTHER

Don't trust the reviews on here at all.......fantastic movie (apart from the skipping and freezing up - the disc needs chucking out).....this was based on a true story so have to lol at "weird concept".....found it very interesting/thought provoking

Not bad. Based about greed and what it can do to you. I felt like getting up and shaking them. Expected ending to be more violent as payback. Still worth watching. Husband

Slow at first but once 20mins into movie it got interesting, interesting but not a real thriller. Had a sort of twist to the whole movie which kept you watching til end. Well worth a watch.

Good film no boring parts, interesting that is based on a true storey also. characters were well cast in their roles.

this is a good movie , amazing experiment in human behaviour . Shows how quickly tyranny can take over . Strong performances from the lead actors. This is a remake of the german film " The Experiment" the original is better in my opinion (it does have english subtitles - a stunning film )

Goddam freaky. Definately don't do anything to end up in jail as this COULD be waht you might experience on the inside. I daresay it probably does happen. Adrien Brody is HOT, HOT, HOT in this and his tatts are awsome. Looks bad when the cut his hair though! Still yummy!!!

the movie was good although the ending was not, i thought that they should of put more of a meaning to the reasons behind the experiment.
