A few juicy bits, but a bit dull. The main lead male actor needs to go to acting school.
looks like the screens writer didnt let the truth get in the way of a good yarn..way to many untruths and inconsistancies...For Once get a serial killer right!!
Leave this one on the shelf- Now who do i send a bill to for my wasted 1 hr 30 min ??
Usually when movie are based off true stories they either tend to make the movie dull and boring or they put too many falsh scenes in it or in Lommels case they simply disrespect the materal but this story based on the infamous Ed Gain who's crimes inspired great films. Thou it was filmed before with Steve Railsback and was good this film goes a notch better. A man kidnaps young ladies and butchers them and the deputy tries to solve the case. Excellant acting with Kane Hoddler of whom played Jason Voorgees plays the Ed gain character with the same mence he brought to Voorgees. The rest of the cast are great as well. The direction does downplay some elements of the case but mostly does well. The violence and gore is brutal with one scene with a ladys leg that def should be seen to belived. My only gripes is they should had included a two plot elements Geins new made furniture and a backstory about his attachment to his mother and why and how his mother and brother died even thou the earlier film explaned that rather nicey before they could had updated it for this story instead of him explaining it but they show real life newclippings of Gain and his victims and those images are hard to shake since they are real footage
Def worth a rental to see the one man that inspired The Texas chainsaw massarce, Psycho and Silence of the Lambs. And horror fans should def rent both Ed Gain films to get the whole story.
Can give it two stars because I have seen Son of Sam and Paraniod. But know better because of the wickedly funny Bundy and The HillSide Strangler.
I did not find this too bad for the fact it was based on a true story and that made it watchable even though the acting could have been a little better.
The bits I understand are fact, seem swallowed up by what appears to be mainly fiction for gore's sake. Some pretty crook acting. A horrifying true story trivialised.
Poor from start to finish... although the gore scenes were horrific... Hollywood pap interspersed with the occasional Hollywood schlock... not enough of the latter to make up for the former. The characterization of Deputy "Bobby" is ever pervasive, irritating and a poor excuse to humanize the story.
Boring film. Could have been done a lot better. Fairly bad acting.
pretty dodgy, looks quite cheaply made ...
a little slow, could of been better
