A fledging screenwriters life changes when he is offered a million dollars for his latest and most personal work - The Dying Gaul - the raw autobiographical story of the death of his lover. But there's a catch the studio thinks the project will be much more commercially viable if he will only change the dead lover to a woman. Making the offer is a smooth ruthless and sexually avaricious studio excutive who seduces the writer with the intoxicating Hollywood cocktail of power money and sex. The studio executives wife a screenwriter herself discovers that her husband is having an affair with the young writer and the shock of that revelation and the unexpected way in which she responds sets off a dangerous series of deceptions confessions and betrayals.

A little bit rough around the edges and definitely not subtle, but not that bad. Its a story, definitely a tragedy, with acting that whilst not oscar material, wasn't that bad. There are worse moves out there by a long shot. I thought it was quite watchable.

I will put this film first on my "films to slit your wrists" by list. Absolutely depressing, tediously slow, bunch of people you could care less about. I want my two hours back.
