Sadly, I am too old for this movie and it was not what I expected. It reminds me of those earlier teen films that I liked when I was a teenager because they hooked into the whole teenager hormonal experiences that I was experiencing at the time.
It was a Seth Rogan screenplay and you can see that in some of the characters looking strangely like smaller (younger) versions of characters in Seth's older films (Superbad).
This movie would have been great if I was watching it for the first time when I was nine. A bit too light on the story line, Owen Wilson is great, but this is far from his best. The kids in it are kinda annoying... sorry.. just my opinion.
Although funny in scenes i found the actors very unlikeable, making this film very difficult to watch. Never got into the film and found myself checking the time until it finished.
I usually sit back and enjoy most movies. This would be one of the worst I have seen for years. I like Owen Wilson as an actor, however this was not good. Don't bother or at least have another movie for your night viewing as you can easily turn this one off and put the next one on.
Drillbit Taylor, while not a perfect movie, was an enjoyable experience for me. This film, written by Seth Rogan and produced by Judd Apatow, had the feeling of "Superbad" woven into its storyline, especially when you see the three young school losers, that we follow around, at their high school. Owen Wilson was ok in the film, but the three boys in Alex Frost, Josh Peck and Cedric Yarbrough were effective performers in being able to portray the bullied high school starters. The bullies, while ok, were a annoying after we see them continually punish these boys in the same cliched way. However the major disappointment for me with this film was the ending, as it was very sloppy at its conclusion. Good Blu-ray, however the special features lacked some organisation, which left me a little frustrated. i would have rathered more structured documentaries on the film then what was presented.

Some very funny scenes but the main kids are just annoying especially the fat kid. The bully is not a patch on Billy Zabka from the Karate Kid or even the tough guy from 'Never Back Down' but he shows enough to steal the show.
