Retired CIA operative Paul Shepherdson is co-opted to pair up with a young FBI agent to solve the murder of a US senator that could involve the societ cold war assassin 'Cassius'. Convinced that 'Cassius' has long been dead after having spent his career tracking down the killer, Shepherdson unwillingly takes the case after his former supervisor, Tom Highland, challenges him to prove his theory is correct against recent evidence that says otherwise. Meanwhile Agent Geary, who has intensively studied Cassius' history, also believes that Cassius has re-emerged and has resumed his killing spree.

What an excellent movie. I love Richard Gere in anything and he played a wonderful role. There was enough action to make it entertaining but not too much blood and gore and it had a very good twist at the end. Highly recommended

Starts off very slow, but hang in there. Once the characters are established you start enjoying the movie for what it is. Good viewing :)

Couldn't get into it. Tried to, because I like Gere. But switched it off before the end.

All American movies seem to be made for 15 year old audience. At the end of the movie you ask yourself: are they for real? Presence of Richard Gere of course makes it watchable.

This movie spun me around so many times, I was dizzy by the end & didn't know which was was up, which I didn't appreciate. Richard Gere @ 63 is looking a lot like Harrison Ford in the last Indiana Jones movie - a little too old for this kind of stuff. And Martin Sheen just looked bored & under-employed. It's hard to give a conclusive opinion on the film as I'm still scratching my head as to what it all meant by the end of it, but I am a little slow on the uptake sometimes. If you like spy action thrillers, grab some coke & popcorn & knock yourself out.

this was an ok watch until 'the twists' began. This made viewing much more exciting/pleasurable. Therefore the movie became a good watch. Well worth watching for all you cia/kgb fans

Great movie. Full of suspence. If you think about the plot too much you will see some major assumptions and flaws. Great for escapism!

Hmmm, thought this was a bit light weight. Gere was OK but not convincing in the part. Story far fetched. Amazing how two guys with pop guns can take on all of the bad guys, no problemo! There is a movie in there but just don't expect much beyond the superficial. When you compare this movie to The Jackel there is no comparison. Gere is getting old and it shows.

Richard Gere was slightly underused considering the plot twists, but still quite good. Expect a lot of post-movie confusing conversations and possibly arguments to take place. Still can't figure it out. You'll forget all about it the next day however. Decent action and intrigue, not enough suspense.

I was expecting a lot from this movie and I wasn't disappointed, Richard Gere as always was brilliant as the older FBI agent full of suspense, action, intrigue, agents, double agent and secret identities over the previous twenty years. Martin Sheen also played his part very well as the CIA boss and the young CIA agent full of new ideas (and a secret mission for the Russians) was an excellent young actor Topher Grace. Storyline is fast moving and keeps you wondering right until the end. If you like spy movies with political overtones and top secrets you will love this one.
