This movie was ridiculous and the acting attrocious. Post-apocalyptic sci-fi at it's almost worst.

Decent action movie (seeing Rhona Mitra playing a bad ass was a plus) But I found all the contradictions off putting

Of its type, not bad, although a bit dark (and gory) for me.

A good movie definately reminiscent of several other 80's post apocolyptic movies...mad max - road warrior, cyborg and even a little andromeda strain and the postman thrown in for good measure. If you like these you will love this movie. Yes, low on character development but who cares, if you want that move on.

Doomsday is a modern Mad Max film and will be the best mad max we will get in these days, some really great characters and some great bloody fun in this film i really liked this film.

Rollicking and fun - I just never remember the title when I think of this average version of 28 Days. What the latter had in character depth and the sense of an empty planet, they threw lots of budget at for this one. As a result in feels a bit more like a great party after the world has ended instead of any kind of 'Doomsday'. (hopefully they paid The Prodigy for Keith's likeness, by the way).

A cross between Mad Max 2, Resident Evil and The Omega Man. Some very solid action pieces (the Bentley chase is pretty good) and a very charismatic Rhona Mitra who is slowly becoming the go to female action hero (like an Angelina Jolie without the acting chops), none the less, a very competent piece of work without of one super scary moment like 'Dog Soldiers'

Action movie all the way through. another mad max kind of movie... special effects were good. Not the best movie I have seen

Well if you love Mad Max movies and movies with a lot of killing and blood and gore then this is the movie for you. As from about 5 mins into the movie started the blood and gore and it kept me watching as there was a story there as well. Worth watching if you like these sort of movies but if you can't handle the blood and gore don't hire it. Its not for the faint-hearted.

I was terribly disappointed in this movie half way through. Fast paced to begin with it grew more and more unbelievable until in the end this was a classic comedy! If your typical virus type movie is your forte then I do NOT recommend this one. If your a 'stickler' for honest representation in movies then don't bother with this one. If you like gore, punk style etc then this aint half bad :)

Being dirivative doesn't mean you have to be boring too.

I did not know what to except from the movie at all, and that was the saving grace. At the end I was pretty sure that there was some hidden British humor at work, as the movie has at least 10 scenes that reminded me of other more mainstream movies. It will never win an Oscar, but I enjoyed the mindless entertainment and Rhona Mitra to me is a believable action hero.

Easily the most derivative film I have ever seen - there's Mad Max, Escape from New York, Timeline, Day of the Dead, I am Legend - and the list goes on. Dozens of films chopped up and put in a blender to make what is ultimately only a very average movie. I should have known - Malcolm McDowell has only made about two good films in his entire career, even though Rhona Mitra was a passable femme road warrior. Ultimately, there are worse ways to spend an evening, but there are also much better...

GOOD MOVIE WORTH SEEING I WOULD RECCOMEND IT

I don't care if this is as derivative as it is possible to be without making a remake, I loved this movie. I thought it was well acted (considering what they had to work with) and highly entertaining. Love the two tribes, love the ending. Overall, don't expect the best movie ever - it's far from the worst, and overall i enjoyed it far too much!

Good virus movie, I love a good chick hero. It was a bit like a modern day Mad Max at the end. I liked it

I really enjoyed this, but I'm a sucker for anything with a post apocalyptic feel to it. I've enjoyed the director's previous films also. At first I was trying to define exactly what sub genre this was trying to be then gave up, cause it's so many in one. If you like Mad Max, Army of Darkness or 28 Days later this is kind of like a mix of all of them.

Great flick, the start had me enthralled and although it peaked out a little - solid story. Not for the squeamish!

The story has major holes and the ending sucks unless they where leading up to a Doomsday 2. Overall though as a watch I liked it, I wasnt bored but for an R rating I dont know, if you want major GORE you will have to rewind and slowmo because its quick but it is there.

Garbage, female mad max meets 28 days and ends like Marie Antoinette. If you have no life and want something with gratuitous violence no plot, and witho filmed on a budget on a disused car lot watch it all other look elsewhere. What were they thinking? Personally I'd rather have root canal work.

Exactly as described. 28 Days Later meets Mad Max! This was a thrill ride a minute. Very light on character, but lots of adrenaline packed sequences, culminating in a chase scene not witnessed since the days of Mad Max. Thoroughly enjoyed this film, watch it if you like small plot, big action, and violence doesn't bother you.

Actually didn't mind this movie.. I thought in the beginning it was going to be the same as the others but I was wrong... I liked the mad max side to it.

I just had to right a short little review to remind you to make your own minds up. I wasa expecting alot and it does fall a teeny bit short of those high expectations. Here's the lowdown. You have a world ruled by punks. Its blood thirsty and full of action! There is little character developement but u dont need it! Suffice to say it is Escape from New York done Mad Max style with a pit fight that reminds me of Army of Darkness. Who cares if its derivative. Watch it with a beer and a pizza, unless you have a week stomach, then steer clear of the pizza. Whatch with Planet Terror for the ultimate grindhouse double

So bad! DESCENT was great and I was expecting so much from this director. I read somewhere he wanted to make an hommage to post apocalyptic movies such as Mad Max or 28 days. I can understand this however this director has still much to prove with only 2 movies on his board, was it the right time for such a ridiculous flick? Can he get enough money so easily that he can make such a crap? Bad acting, bad actors, bad directing, annoying scenes and dialogues. From Mad Max to Gladiator to Escape from LA... all blended together looks like Uwe Boll Movies.
