This DVD is the second disc from The Day of the Daleks set. It contains a 2011 CGI fuelled re-edit of the classic 4 parter. The first disc is available separately on Quickflix. Main improvements are the reimagining of the 22nd century landscapes, addition of extra Daleks and Ogrons in the battle scenes and the re-dub of all the Dalek voices In addition to the new version there are some interesting tidbits on this disc about the making of the Special Edition. As a super fan it seems a little disappointing to me (ultimately). The re-edit is an improvement but it is still quaint by modern standards. The story succeeds on pace and fine acting performances and like a lot of classic Doctor Who the special effects are kinda beside the point.....
