Dominic Cooper should've at least been nominated for an Academy Award for his superb performance(s). I found it hard to believe they were the same actor. This film is certainly not for the squeamish as it is laced heavily with blood, guts and pointless killing. But it is a santisied version of what a family of monsters the ruling family of Iraq really were.

Horrific. Has everything a writer with an ugly and wild and crazed imagination would create, including things so grotesque they'd be unbelievable. But truth is darker and crueler than fantasy.

Only view this if you have a fetish for the nasty and enjoy seeing just how morally corrupt some people can be. I couldn't see this out and turned it off after 20 mins.

Surprisingly good. Dominic Cooper did a great job in this film as the nutcase Oday and the victim Latif. Well worth the watch. Lotsa violence and mayhem so not a film you'd necessarily watch with your girlfriend.

Fast paced movie, good performances, good story, however the last half an hour the movie seems to have lost direction, and become meaningless. It is a worth watching movie though.

Definitely not for the faint hearted. If it's all true humans and power don't mix.

Uday Hussein lookalike finds himself in the unenviable position of being a virtual hostage to a psychopath. A shocking look at the abuse of power and horrible deeds of the ruling elite. Claiming to be based on true story of Uday’s double, by all accounts this is largely fiction. However, the acts that Uday perpetrated are not. Worth a look for the lead performance. 3.5 stars

Yes, "Last King of Scotland" is a good comparison to this movie. Quite enjoyed both movies although they are both grim in part. This was a good story and well enough acted/ scripted. But you felt there was a fair bit missing. How this guy got out of Iraq alive is never really told. He rode away on a horse in the first instance then just disappeared after another shooting. Hard to believe, but it is supposed to be a true story.

I fell asleep on the couch near the end of this one. Didn't bother watching the end the next day. I didn't care what happened. If you liked "Last king of Scotland" you'll like this one.

It might be chaotic and lacking focus, but The Devil's Double is undeniably interesting and bursting with manic energy. Plays like an Iraqi version of 'Scarface', but with an extra narrative twist.

A chilling vision of the House of Saddam Hussein comes to life through the eyes of the man who was forced to become the double of Hussein's sadistic son. Not for everyone. Great insight into the maniac that was Uday Hussein
