In a happy suburban neighbourhood surrounded by white picket fences with flowering rose bushes, sits a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbours, hidden beneath this home is a vast secret hideout. Surrounded by a small army of minions, we discover Gru (Steve Carell), planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. He is going to steal the moon (Yes, the moon!)! Gru delights in all things wicked. Armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays, and battle-ready vehicles for land and air, he vanquishes all who stand in his way. Until the day he encounters the immense will of three little orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad. The world's greatest villain has just met his greatest challenge: three little girls named Margo (Grace Rolek), Edith (Dana Gaier) and Agnes (Elsie Fisher).

Really funny, manic, clever, loved this and watched it through twice. This movie has moments of pure comic genius. The minions are unforgettable. I will watch this again sometime.

It's fun and age appropriate. I would say 4-8yrs of age may be a little cute for older. Not a classic but good for kids movie night.

Great kids movie!! I have 3 boys and all 3 loved this movie and watched it numerous times. They keep coming out with different scenes from the movie. Just shows that they loved it.

We saw Despicable Me and Megamind on consecutive days and if you only see one animated, all-star voice cast, super-villain based, made for merchandise movie this year ... make it Megamind. There was no originality about the plot or the development of the main character - that is to be expected. What I didn't expect, given the talent involved, was how try-hard and ultimately flat the humour was. The animation was well done without being spectacular, the henchmen were cute and provided the movie with its funniest moments. Granted, I am probably not in their target audience but I generally love the light entertainment of animated adventures - dating back to a Disney rich childhood - but Despicable Me just didn't work for me.

Was a bit slow to start, but picks up steadily. Some funny moments that can be enjoyed by young and old. The main character will grow on you by the end of the movie, if he doesnt capture you at the start.

This movie is a very good all rounder for the family, it is funny and will be much loved by our kids, we would like to see more of these family fun movies hit the movie screens, We can relate in a way to the dispicable me characters as we all do devious things at one time or anoher, or we at least think deviously, It is about time someone made a good cartoon that the adults can enjoy.....

Didn't watch this one myself but the laughter coming from the lounge room Husband, Grandson 13yrs & Granddaughter 8yrs and the three repeats I'm guessing it was a big hit! ! ! !

A great film - especially for the kids. Deadly Far...errr Dart gun had the kids in stiches. Steve Carell - does such great voice acting. The classic line from the whole film? "He's so Fluffy... I think I'm gonna Die!". We are going out and buying this one to add to our collection. :-)

Don't know, everyone RAVED about this movie but it didn't grab me the way Megamind did. But then, I didn't 'get' Napoleon Dynamite either. I guess it was OK, kids will probably like it, but I didn't really get too much from it :(

This is a fantastic family movie. Our four kids aged from 2 through to 10 all loved it, not to mention us 2 big kids! Lots of laughs. A definite family fave!

Even the thought of this one still makes me smile. Sweet story, quirky characters. Nothing out of the ordinary story-wise, but it was a very enjoyable, fun and touching film.
Five stars. Not the most original, but I loved it.

The whole family loved this film. With lots of Laugh out Loud moments. I think the kids watched it at least 5 times and I had to send it back while they were at school and pre school so we could get our next batch of DVD's! Great jokes and similies and foriegn accents puns. Cute kids and geeky villians that are not scarey. A big thumbs up. Five stars from us!

This was way better than i expected. At first i thought just another kids film but as it went on it was fantastic. Great story line, funny and amusing, and the kids will love it! Highly recommend for a family night in.

I'm an adult with teenage chidlren and we absolutely loved this movie! Maybe a little scary for smaller kids though but from 10 up would definitely see the humour in the situations. The musical score is also brilliant.

This is the perfect movie for a family movie night - it will entertain all ages from the littlies to the adults. Cute story and some very funny moments. My 4 year old laughed himself silly over the "dart" gun joke. Well worth a looksee if you want something everyone can watch

This was an okay movie, but I've seen much better animated movies in recent years. Some of it was cute and funny, but the story was a little too predictable at times and a few of the jokes were weak. Still if you're a fan of animated flicks it's worth watching.

This is one of the best films Ive seen in ages.I just LOVE the minions and their different personalities.Watching Gru fall in love with the orphans was funny and heartwarming.A film for both kids and grown up kids at heart.
