Ryan Reynolds stars as Will Hayes. a 30-something Manhattan dad in the midst of a divorce when his 10-year old daughter, Maya (Abigail Breslin) starts to question him about his life before marriage. Maya wants to know absolutely everthing about how her parents met and fell in love. Will relives his past as an idealistic young man learning the ins and outs of big city politics, and recounts the history of his romantic relationships with three very different women. Will hopelessly attempts a gentler version of his story for his daughter and changes the names so Maya has to guess who is the women her father finally married. I sher mother Will's college sweetheart, the dependable girl next-door Emily (Elizabeth Banks)? Is she longtime best friend and confidante, the apolitical April (Isla Fisher)? Or is she the free-spirited but ambitious journalist Summer (Rachel Weisz)?

A sweet and interesting movie that is a little different than your average romantic comedy. Abigail Breslin trully makes this film as well as a great interesting cast.

This movie was kind of adorable. Definitely one to watch if you like Ryan Reynolds, I think he makes it. Sweet and I had to reach for the tissues a couple of times.

I didn't get to watch it. Kept getting as far as 1.46mins into movie each time it stopped and wouldn't go any further each time. I turned off computer twice & reset, put back on & tried about 4 times, but kept on doing same thing each time. So finally gave up.

So-so rom/com that was not funny at all and was a bit of a fizzer in the romance department. The actors were decent, particularly Isla Fisher who was a charmer. The surprise appearance of Kevin Kline was a bonus. He's always good but he didn't have a lot to work with. OK for a night in with a bottle of wine but glad I didn't pay to see this at the movies.

This fits somewhere between 2 and 3 stars, which is appropriate because 2 is "maybe" and 3 is "definitely". As far as rom-coms go it doesn'g get terribly cheesy and has enough laughs to keep it moving along nicely. I like Ryan Reynolds and Isla Fisher was easy to watch as well. So if you are looking for easy entertainment, this one is for you. Definitely. Well, maybe.

For those expecting a light Ryan Reynolds piece, it is and it isn't. A good script, real characters and a charming little kid. Part coming of age film, part romantic comedy and part ensemble satire of the Clinton administration.
Surprisingly good. Ryan Reynolds shows some pretty good acting chops, especially when he's with Abigail Breslin (the kid).
Good date movie and especially good with the better half.

This movie is definitely, maybe sponsered by cigarette companies. Despite some negative dialogue about smoking, which is the equivelant of a warning label on a box, this movie's message to the younger target audience is:
"Its cool to smoke and that you'll meet nice girls/guys doing it, just don't smoke when your older. BTW you don't need to worry its easy to break that habit later."
Apart from that its a very convoluted love mystery story which has its few moments. You definately maybe need to keep this movie away from your kids.

Loved it! Ryan Reynolds has great chemistry with the 3 actresses and on-screen daughter.
Abigail Breslin (the daughter) is incredible. Rachel Weisz is solid as usual.
The real star is Isla Fisher. Such a cute, sexy, natural actress.

A romantic comedy with a difference. A clever script keeps us guessing. The early 90's (ancient history...) well recreated in great detail. Watch it if you enjoyed Abigail Breslin in "Little Miss Sunshine" - she's a natural.

Better than I thought. The 10 year old daughter of a separated Dad goads her father into reliving his previous relationships. The movie is then his "memories" come to life but he hides the true identities of all the women and keeps the girl guessing as to which lover affair led to her inception. Easy entertainment.
