Previously released in Australia with 12 minutes cut, "DEEP RED" is now presented here for the first time UNCUT UNCENSORED and in WIDESCREEN.
This DVD also includes the 60 minute documentary "An Eye For Horror" which documents Argento's career and features interviews with Dario Argento, John Carpenter, Alice Cooper and actresses Jessica Harper and Piper Laurie.

Yeah..it's OK..not in the class suggested by "at a glance"..be prepared for some highlights but overall a 7/10

the only problem i had was it keep jumping from english to italian and back and fourth through out the movie.

A Macabre murder mystery that was a pleasure to finally get around to. It's hardly surprising to see many homage's in todays horror renaissance, from the bathroom recreated with care by the makers of Saw to Stephen Kings mansion Rose Red. Don't expect anything too shocking, was banned and censored in an era when censors in Australia were banning everything, Right Winged Australian Governments preach freedom for the individual yet ban things like Communist.

A Brilliant horror movie (Yes its horror as its a slasher film) about a piano player who witnesses a murder of his upstairs neighbour of whom can read minds and tapped into a mind of a psycho at one of her conferance's. He teams up with a zesty reporter and they try to solve the murder but the killer is always one step ahead and kills anyone who can link them to his past crime.
Brilliant acting by all, A lovely music score by Goblin of whom is a pet favourtie band of mine as they make awesome music, The direction has stepped up leaning towards Argentos films up to date, the kills are brutal but fasinating in a ghoulsh kind of way as the killer enjoys toying with his victims before the final act and the twist at the end makes sense and is quite ingenious
Def worth a view and one for the Argento collectors

Well, horror buffs will rave about Argento as some sort of God to the horror genre, but basically his movies are crap. This one is no exception. Average at best although he does have the ability to choose leading ladies that look like washed up porn stars. Is that a good thing? Avoid. Rent Session 9 or 28 Days Later instead.
