In 1964, Rachel Brenner is one of three Mossas agents who capture The Surgeon of Birkenau, a monstrous Nazi war criminal. In their safe house in Berlin, The Surgeon engages the young agents in a psychological duel, ending in his escape. Aware that this will be seen by the world as a national failure for the new state of Israel, the three agents decide to fabricate his death and unwittingly return home as heroes. In 1997, more than thirty years later, The Surgeon suddenly resurfaces in the Ukraine, determined to confess to his crimes against humanity. The three agents now need to terminate The Surgeon to protect the lie that their country’s history and their own lives, has built on.

Israeli film, slick and realistic. Much better than the remake with Helen Mirren. A credible and non formulaic plot kept me absorbed to the end.

An absorbing movie but some aspects of the plot were not credible.

This is the original Israeli movie and not a US remake. It was pretty good considering a limited budget they must have had. Feels they could have added a bit more action, but after all, it is not an action movie to begin with.

When a foreign film is remade in English with an impressive cast then you know it will be good - and you won't be dissapointed. A thriller with real people at the helm.
