Loved this movie. I have loved Channing Tatum & Amanda Seyfried in their other movies. I wasn't sure how they would work as a couple, but it did work. Great movie.

The Dear John, movie was entertaining and good. In fact it was one of those movies where you want to watch some thing light without getting into something to heavy. This movie met this criteria.

Average chick-flick. no where near as good as THE NOTEBOOK, because the minimal character exposure or subsequent development, they remain shallow throughout the movie. Just a basic love story really, only an average night's entertainment could have been much better with more thought by the writer.

We enjoyed the movie but what really enthused us was the presence of Braeden Reed in the film. His Asperger's is very familiar to us and we rejoice in its presence in our family. The addition of the lengthy special feature on him was an added treasure. It honoured all those wonderful kids in the world.

This is a love story that is largely a fantasy between the lovers. He is a dedicated warior in Iraque. Her love can't grow because of their separation. She has an unhappy marrige. When the warrior returns the have a chance meeting whichy could develop into another love story. Excellent acting.

I nearly turned this one off. I picked it because it based on another Nichollas Sparks book and I loved the Notebook. This was tedious and the ending was unsatisfying. Do yourself a favour though, if you do borrow this watch the alternate ending in the special features - there more closure and fulfilment with the alternate ending.

A great movie to escape into, and one that draws you in and stays with you afterwards. I liked the various sub-plots and themes which gave depth to the story (like 9/11, and autism), and how it spanned several years. Also involved some unexpected twists, so I didn't find it completely predictable. A heartwrenching story of love, loss, obligation, and patience.

If you love that tough kind of guy that only one girl can get the sweet side out of... and how love you can love someone but not always be with them.. how relationships can change but still that connection is never the same with another. This movie is great, definitely would watch again! Absolutely loved it.

Beautiful story protrayed well on the screen. Not quite the depth of "The Bridges of Madison County" but very close for a young love story full of angst and confusion.Such is life! Amanda Seyfield is fantastic as always and should be well on her way to bigger and brighter things. Channing Tatum showed amazing depth with this role.

A brilliant piece of cinematography with a compelling story line that is beautifully scripted and well cast. This movie brings to life the choices, sacrifices and price paid by those called to military service along with those who love them. This film is destined to become one of the all time greats.

Average story line. Didn't find the reason's behind the choices Amanda Seyfried's character made very believable or realistic. Expected a romantic film that tugged at the heartstrings but the movie didn't deliver. It's a pity because I loved the actors in the movie, they were fantastic, but I think the story wasn't wasn't very cohesive.

Absolutely beautiful movie and a lot more than the usual romantic 'chic flic', you have the total range of emotions and I'm sure is going to become a modern day classic with references to 9/11 and the war in Afganistan. Amanda Seyfried who got our attention in 'Mamma Mia' is blossoming into a very talented and beautiful actress. Don't hesitate to recommend this as a 'must see' movie.
