Dr. Jennifer Stillman (Nastassja Kinski) is a New York City therapist who takes a job as an elementary school psychiatrist in the rural town of Sierra Vista, Nevada. Her presence is greeted with a collective cold shoulder and it soon becomes clear that this backward little town has a deep, dark secret that it's inhabitants' are determined to keep buried. When she befriends an odd and gifted young boy, Dr. Stillman finds herself in the middle of a battle between a vengeful and horrifying monster and the unspeakable evil at the heart of the town itself. Featuring terrifying effects by legendary monster maker Stan Winston, The Day The World Ended also stars Randy Quaid.

I actually liked this one. It has a good plot, and is well acted. Yes, the beast looks a bit odd (see other reviews by members on this) but that is the whole point. Well, I liked it, was harmless escapism without being over the top gory. My wife even liked it and she does not like horror flicks.

This is sooooo 'b' class, its almost a 'Z'. Changing a baby's dirty nappy would be more horrific than this movie. Definately stay away from this one!
