They have the looks... that kill. DOA: Dead or Alive is the big screen adaptation of the highly successful Tecmo fighting game series of the same name. The story, a cross between Charlie’s Angels and Enter the Dragon, revolves around four beautiful women who begin as rivals in a secret invitation-only martial arts contest, but find themselves teaming up with one another against a sinister force. Tina Armstrong (Jaime Pressly) is a superstar in the world of women’s wrestling. Christie (Holly Valance) is a beautiful thief and assassin-for-hire. Princess Kasumi (Devon Aoki) is an Asian warrior-aristocrat, schooled by martial arts masters. Helena Douglas (Sarah Carter) is an extreme sports athlete whose tragic past binds her to the remote palace in Southeast Asia where the Dead or Alive tournament takes place. The film boasts an international cast of up-and-coming stars and world-class athletes who deliver some of the most extraordinary martial arts fight scenes ever filmed.

This movie probably has one of the worst "story lines" ever put to film but I still gave it 3 stars because of some original and kick-ass fighting. A lot of it is laughable but its an entertaining watch.

Good movie, good fights scenes (if a little over the top), but what do you expect from a movie made from a console game.

Fans of the game might get something out of this, but other than that you have to be a teenage boy and you'll get something out of this.

This was a XBOX video game before it was made into a movie, and was filmed at various locations within China. It looks like a Saturday morning cartoon to me and would be suitable for kids. A host invites chosen people to compete in his Martial Arts Fighting tournament in Hong Kong for a $10M prize. He injects them with nanobots which learns all their moves. He then withdraws them and injects them into himself, so that he now knows all their moves, so he can win.

More or less what I expected. Very average plot, though it is quite a feast for the eyes at parts.

Teen boys will love it, older boys will only rent it to watch the sexy scenes -but this movie is totally PG A lot of this movie is pretty predictable and far-fetched, especially the fight scenes.

Reminds me of all the B grade martial arts movies made in the 80s & 90s - thin plot with any excuse to have a fight scene - and I always loved those movies. Highly entertaining.

What more could you want from a video game turned into a movie. Hot women in skimpy outfits kicking butt.

To be watched only if you are a fan of the Xbox game & don't take your movies seriously. Otherwise still well clear.

A bit long winded, nevertheless OK. Plenty of action, if not a bit put on!

Very average. Try Naked Weapon or So Close. Both are much better than this.
