In 1692, in the Ipswich colony of Massachusetts, five families with untold power formed a covenant of silence. One family, lusting for more, was banished – their bloodline disappearing without a trace. Until now. The Covenant tells the story of the Sons of Ipswich, four young students at the elite Spenser Academy who are bound by their sacred ancestry. As descendants of the original families who settled in Ipswich Colony in the 1600s, the boys have all been born with special powers. When the body of a dead student is discovered after a party, secrets begin to unravel and threaten to break the covenant of silence that has protected their families for hundreds of years.

Better than Twilight, but not as good as Harry Potter. Some eye candy for the girls

Good movie and enjoyed it. Not up there with the greatest horror movies but far from the worst either!

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The graphics are brilliant, the story line good and the acting, quite good for what it is. A paranormal action.

It's an American teenage witchcraft movie. If you watch it with the expectation that it will be ok, you'll probably think it isn't bad. If you have any higher expectations you probably won't like it. I thought it was OK / GOOD. More action than The Craft but less interesting in general.

A story about a group of witches, from a long line of witches, who encounter another lost descendant who hasn???t been trained to curb his use of the power and has become addicted to it. The way the power accumulates (on the stroke of when they turn 18 - lame) and it???s use and effect like a drug ??? that???s quite interesting, but not much is done with it. The plot is dull and the eye candy is tacked on in the most awful, obvious way (there is no way those boys can dive or swim in those togs!). The women in the story might as well have not been there and the romance had very little spark. There were the bare bones of something worthwhile here, but it just didn???t happen. It???s a male version of The Craft, but nowhere near as good. Looks pretty though.

This movie had potential but they seemed to rush things in many parts and were too talky in others. Special effects look good however they glossed over parts in the rush to the solo faceoff which made no sense. Players behaved and looked older than high school kids.

I seem to be in the minority who thought that this movie sucked. It had basically no plot and was just one endless stream of special effects with the cast hurling orbs at each other. All the other people who I watched this movie with fell asleep, they were the lucky ones in the end.

Boring, 2 dimensional pretty-boys chucking seen-them-before-but-better special effects at each other for an hour and a half, while spouting inane, O.C.-inspired dialogue.

Basically just another "teen-flick" suspense/horror movie with a very slow average storyline, much the same as any other in this genre. Not much to keep you interested at all. Unless you are "into" these type of movies - don't bother!
