I agree with the majority of reviewer's in saying that this is not a nice doco to watch, but everyone should watch it. I really hope it makes a difference somehow. I feel sick to my stomach knowing that this sort of horrific violence toward one of the most beautiful and intelligent creatures on the planet, is still happening. Spread the word!

This is one of those movies that everyone should see. The tragedy is many people who care will probably choose not to see it because of the perceived horror of the dolphin slaughter. But this is a brilliant story highlighting the links between the TV show Flipper, Ric O'Barry (the Flipper trainer), the rise of the dolphin aquarium business and the slaughter of dolphins. A brilliant doco and at the end of the movie there is action we can all take. If you don't want to see the gore then avert your eyes for the 1 minute clip which is towards the end of the doco.

Don't see why by closing the place, the activity will stop. Another place somewhere else will open. As said in the documentary, the larger profit comes from the aquatic park around the world requesting dolphins for their shows, forbid dolphins in captivity with laws and such infamous organizations will naturally go bankrupt. Sea world isn't it American? So you know where to start from?

After seeing this doco, I seriously don't know how those fisherman sleep at night after stabbing and killing those dolphins. It is sickening and brutal. How is this still accepted in our society? And it's so typical of the Japanese government to be covering this up. Seeing that sea of red blood just makes me sick to the stomach :( I really commend those activists for bring this issue to light and being brave enough to film it. Highly recommended!

A very well made documentary that is sure to get your heart pumping and your blood boiling. It doesn't try to preach, but it doesn't need to, as the subject matter seems so damn straightforward. The arguments for the "other" side seem pretty flimsy most of the time. Everyone should see this, and I know we signed on-line petitions after watching it. A terrible situation captured expertly. Do not miss.

I echo Ana's scentiments. It seems that if we limit their whale kills they will just brutally take something else instead.

A definate must see movie. Made me sad but most of all really angry. It is absolutely outrageous what is going on. The arrogance of all involved from fisherman to government officials is astounding.

This superb documentary on the shocking killing for food of dolphins in a secret cove in Japan will make you very angry. I couldn't sleep after watching this. The slaughter scenes are very hard to take but are absolutely necessary to make us realise the barbarity of the situation. Everyone should see this.

OMFG........you will never go to Sea World again let alone eat in Japan. This is a must see for any intelligent person concerned for the protection of the innocent. For those heading to Japan, get a copy and hand it to a person in the street, if enough people do this they will also learn of the way they are killing their own people.

Horrifying to see the slaughter of "our relatives" in such a cruel manner on "secret camera". A good example of a totalitairian regime keeping its population in the dark. And to feed the contaminated dolphin meet to the population can only happen in country like Japan! Hopefully this film will stop this terrible slaughter.

Absolutely riveting. Its amazing that all this was happening under the nose of the general population of Japan and no-one knew. At the same time they were literally being poisoned. One hell of a documentary.

How does such devastating cruelty still exist in todays society? It is beyond belief to think that these montrous human beings believe it is exceptable to commit such cruelty on these beautiful mammals. It is not exceptable that any country be allowed to consume Dolphin or Whale meat. Why is there not more of an outrage over the barbarrick cruelty that is occurring at the Cove every year. Out of sight out of mind perhaps or the government doesnt want to step on anyones toes so to speak is probably more to the point. A must see vision of blatant cruelty that should not exist.

This movie was really hyped for it's cinema release. I have put off seeing it until now. Some of the scenes were beautifully shot even in this non Blu-Ray release. But it fell well short of what I was expecting from the hype surrounding it. The subject is gruesome, and the methods used to kill the Dolphins brutal. Personally I think if a country wants to eat Dolphins they should be allowed to catch them as any other non endangered fish in the sea. But they must use more humane methods to dispatch them. As a Doco it's good, but as a movie I found it lacking.

The Cove is just amazing and sad movie, you just can't belive humans do this, i even had tears in my eyes and one of the best docos out there. this doco is very effective and what they do is just amazing just to get footage. but the people killing the dolphins are bad and its a whole cover up seeing as the public doesnt know this happening it is just amazing.
