The Committee is a 1968 British independent black-and-white film starring Paul Jones of Manfred Mann fame, and is a unique and controversial document of Britain in the 1960s. Avoiding easy answers, The Committee uses a surreal murder to explore the tension and conflict between bureaucracy on one side and individual freedom on the other. The musical score, written and performed by Pink Floyd, is 'some of the most intellectual music the band has ever produced'. Also featured in the movie is the flamboyant Arthur Brown performing ‘Nightmare’.
