Robert Layton (Rob Lowe) is a highly committed attorney who is on the brink of losing his wife Kate, and his daughter Lily. Money and prestige have become his goals and he has forgotten the important things in life. His daughter Lily’s choir teacher (Kimberley Williams) is struck down with a life threatening illness and her small son, Nathan, decides he must buy his mother a beautiful pair of shoes so she looks pretty when she arrives in heaven. On Christmas Eve, as Robert searches for gifts for his wife and daughter, he crosses paths with Nathan and realises that the young boy doesn’t have enough money for the most important gift of his life. Robert learns his most valuable lesson ever when he helps Nathan buy the Christmas Shoes for his mother.

A nice touching TV movie. Nothing very original or clever but it tugged at the heart strings.
