i was expecting this to be funny, it wasn't, there are a few one liners. nice story line but its sort of slow. boring to watch as a family movie. wouldn't watch again, it was only just ok.
I wanted to like this but it just wasn't funny.
Awsome Aussie movie, that only aussies will find funny! I thought this was lovely - a real gem.... thank you to the person who wrote this movie, it's about time someone approached greeving without drugs, violence or irreparable mistakes!
Great for a belly laugh, with a hidden message behind the humour.
Was a bit slow at the start, but once on the road the movie was good and we enjoyed it
it was ok but not one i want to see again in a hurry
Don't we all wish we had the chance to take our Parent(s) out for one last fling? Excellent acting by this crazy pair make the movie one to remember and watch over and over
Fairly enjoyable. I was expecting a lot more given the movies both have done previously. Pretty soft script/story.
This is very Australian and there are some very funny lines
We all loved it
Good movie. Great scenery.
ok to pass a rainy afternoon with, teary a couple of times
Good down to earth Aussie fun and thought provoking storey.
Very simply story but very enjoyable movie with lovely Australian scenery
We thought this was really good and not what we expected
Not a full on comedy, more of a whimsical road tip and buddy movie. A good tour guide for a trip up to Cape York as well! Hoges is quite different in this, nad it's an easy movie to watch. Certainly seen a lot worse. Worth watching.
What a great movie. Father and son rebonding after wife/mother dies. Lots of laughs and beautiful Australian scenery.
wrong genre.. it is not a comedy as such.. It has Aussie humour in it for sure, but not 'falling of the chair in stitches' funny. it IS however, a very touching story with some humorous and sad parts in it.. It shows Australia and Australian life at its best.
Loved it, fits with the Australian psyche....
Typical Ausie humour./ Thoroughly enjoyed. Some classic Paul Hogan.
I absolutely loved this movie, the Auzzie humour & the fact they are tripping from one end of Auz to the next!!
Watched it again & again....
Not a Paul Hogan fan but was pleasently surprised
Aussie film of Aussie themes. Loved it.
Loved it,another funny Australian film, yippee
This Australian film is typical in that it portrays life as it really is, Father and son getting to know one another, after some time apart, Really excellent story line, and the geography is correct as well, well nearly, that strawbeery outlet, is not where they showed it, but thats a minor error,
Was not what I was expecting and I found it was a little dry and slow.
This is a great aussie movie Loved it
Unfortunately, the two funny men did not come across as humorous in the film. Nor were the dramatic scenes heavy enough. It left me a little flat. I enjoyed the interviews and special features more where Paul and Shane's true and funny natures came across naturally.
great story/good reminder to fix any problems with your Dad
Very under rated road movie put it in the queue for curiosity value but found Jacobson to be a fine actor so good he made Hoges seem plausable. Enough heart in this to make up for a lack of laughs.
Most boring movie I have seen a quite a while!
I realize this must have boosted the economy in QLD, but it was the biggest waste of time...Hogs has definitely lost the plot!!
Aussie Drama ot it's best
was really good till disc we got started to play up by stopping and starting think the disc we got was scratched really want to see it properly
A great Aussie film, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Both Actors work well with each other and bounce off each other. Also has soft moments, very touching and humorous film.
A very ordinary effort , not funny at all, very disappointed
The only good part of this movie was the acting brillance of Shane jacobsen..
This movie was VERY disappointing. With Paul Hogan and Shane Jacobson as the main players, we were expecting something a LOT funnier. But what we got was not so much a cross between Kenny and Croc Dundee as a cross between a low-grade tourism commercial and an overly sentimental soapie. Not impressed!
A wonderful Australian story of two bloaks travelling north. I love the dry wit!!
Excellent, much better than expected.
Dad and son go on a bonding trip after death of mother. An enjoyable observational comedy that doesn't force the humor. Stay right to the end so you don't miss the final joke.
Very Australian movie and good actors.Liked the story line.
This movie is quite slow to start, but once it gets going there are quite a few laughs. Real Australian humour.
This wasnt entirely what I was expecting....I was expecting a few more laughs but I did enjoy it very much.
I loved how Australian it was...I think the cop. That one bit made me laugh my guts up.
Just dont expect a lot of laughs...but if you like a bit of drama this is definately for you
Great Aussie movie, no special effects, fairly emotional
Corny! Comedy? Nah! Drame? You kiddin'?
Very poor acting, and very few laughs, overall a dull movie.
Excellent and most enjoyable film, well worth the effort of watching. The two main actors showed their characters with belief and understanding of the circumstances which had happened around them.
Worth all of the effort in watching this great Australian film
I liked the movie , I recognized some of the country . Good Aussie movie.
Only criticsm it was a tad too long.
Good travelogue; great scenery; pretty ordinary story line.
Little more than a television movie at best. Nothing new or inventive.
This movie was great and included some very funny, good aussie humour. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
I thought that this movie was enjoyable. Some very funny moments
I thought this movie was o.k. - good for a change, instead of watching an involved movie, overcome with violence. The storyline was a bit thin, but it was light and enjoyable.
a feel good film, quite a deep storyline when you get past the comedy.
I enjoyed this film. It wasn't fantastic, but I don't think it ever intended to be. It was funny, and got better and better towards the end. Hogan and Jacobsen work very well together, but I didn't like the directing much. Some of the scenes at the beginning were a little cringe-worthy and unbelievable, but the film definitely made up for that as it went along. The strawberry scene was the best.
A very good film. Was'nt expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. You have to love Australian humour. Good on you Hoges.
An excellent aussie movie, it makes you appreciate the beauty of our land and ppl, i wanna travel more now... It addresses family connections and friendships, but has great light hearted comedy throughout without resorting to the usual slapstick aussie films often use. Paul Hogan and Shane Jacobsen work well together, i was impressed :)
Gentle Aussie comedy , worth a watch with some good laughs. sSay to the end of the credits to see one of the best lines.
Better than 2 stars but not 3.
Oz comedy at it;sdroll, dry and understated best mixedwith a moving story about grief and father sonbonding and healing.great to see Hogan the aussie again after all this time. Good comedy duo with Jacobson.
Whilst i found the comedy enjoyable i found the concept of watching charlie and boots driving in their car a bit dull. The whole movie was there trip to the north penisula, i just wish there were more actors and maybe more variety, but they were defiantly good together, just needed more drama and action. I feel like the road trip has been done and is not enjoyable but understand the significance to build their relationship.
What a great movie, it's funny , I reckon everybody should see this movie.
had to fast forward much of it.
slow n boring
Not bad, it has a few funny moments but is generally a bit slow.
Just a good movie -all too predictable, glad I didn't buy it.
could not watch it so cant coment
Not a bad aussie movie at all. Funny and serious. Hogan and Jacobson worked well together - who would've thought. Definitely worth seeing.
starts well, but quickly becomes tedious and predictable.
Inconsequential and little more than a pleasant road trip through familiar Australian scenery. Yet there's a very human story in there as well, making for a credible and enjoyable movie.
I wanted to like this film, but I just couldn't. It was frankly, BORING! I thought it was going to be comedy... Kenny and Hoges...how did it all go wrong? Shane Jacobson seemed to be intimidated by his co-star, Paul Hogan and was really held back, Hoges on the other hand vacillated between hamming it up and being a grumpy old so-and-so. A lot of outmoded 'Aussieness' abounds - I think it was made for a foreign audience - probably the USA - but it just seemed phony to me - driving a Kingswood - puhleesseee!!!
On the plus side there was nice cinematography; the scenery was beautiful etc. What a disappointment. Oh well.
We agree with the negative comments by other members. I am loyal to Aussie movies BUT how could the writers and director get this so wrong? I did not expect a Crocodile Dundee or Kenny as I doubt if those heights will ever be reached again. The whole movie was amateurish, slow, corny, childish pathetic attempts at humour. (At one stage they had to resort to limericks for God sake and even that did not work) This is a travelogue of our wonderful country but all they could emphasis was a large koala, a large guitar a few sheep, and the worlds thickest shake. It was a pathetic ad for a plastic Australia, line dancing and rodeo included. So much quality scenery missed. There was limited chemistry (due to the script) between Paul & Sean which caused their acting to be wooden and disjointed like the storyline. A great chance for a quality drama / comedy with 2 Aussie icons missed. Sadly ???..don???t bother with this one
I loved this movie! A bit of good Aussie humour amongst it
What a great movie. With great aussie actors. With Paul and Shane aussie dry humour who would have thought that they would work well together. Get selection of cast members. You will be on the edge of your seat laughing all the way.
not too bad I enjoyed the aussie humour but have seen better
