We enjoyed Chaplan and were surprised to find that he was quite a serious person, not the comedian all the time as we expected.

Outstanding portrayal of Chaplin by Robert Downey Jr. Depicts the turmoil of a troubled comedic genius, who was brilliant as the 'little tramp'. The silent screen gave him an instrument to 'talk' to the world in mime.

We really enjoyed this movie. While it only had a few funny moments we felt it accurately portrayed this great man's life. It was very interesting and kept us entralled the whole way through. A poignant story, the use of Anthony Hopkins as the fictional biographer was a clever touch!

An odd work. At times sublime and worthy of accolades such as Downeys drunk early on. At other times it devolves into slapstick in the 'real' scenes with jarring effect. Worth a watch, just don't expect a masterpiece(though it does fool you at times).

I loved this film and I'm not even a Charlie Chaplin fan. Robert Downey Jnr is stunning in this role. A real incite into the beginnings of the Hollywood film industry and of a screen icon. His personal life was just as interesting.

Dissapointing. Even though the cast is impressive the performances are wooden. Particularly Anthony Hopkins, which is so unexpected. Even though it is a real story one doesn't end up liking any of the people in it!
