Quite good, story could easily really happen in a small town.
What a lovely aussie movie. Loved the actors, the scenery, the storyline. Especially loved the twist at the end. Found it predictible but I still enjoyed.
The quest to find her father brings up unforseen secrets. Wonderful acting in a beautiful setting.
this movie won me over. the music is amazing, the setting beautiful, the lead character mesmerising and best of all, it has no cringey australian bits.
it also is written, directed and produced by women, the film is about women, and the female actors are wonderful.
Always nice to see quality Australian work. A bit of a chick flick but I really enjoyed it.
a beautiful australian movie, actors as familar faces performing their parts very well ,scenery beautiful, not to be missed
A liitle slow to begin with but beautifully shot & directed in the seaside town of Robe South Australia. A story of people coming to terms with their "lot" in life and the small town they live in. Where most things are "related" in one way or another. Wonderful performances from all the actors particularly the two teenagers. Not everyone's cup of tea but very watchable. A very poignant storyline.
Nice movie, but a bit close to home! Loved the twist at the end
CW has a Aussie TV soapie feel emphasized by ordinary camera work and mundane dialogue. However, as 17 year old Emily, determined to seek out answers about her past, Victoria Thaine’s performance stands out in a cast of talented actors. Despite highly charged themes that include adultery, suicide, family estrangement and teen pregnancy, the story never reaches the emotional heights it might have. There’s holes in the storyline, I wanted to know about relationships that aren’t explained and the ineffectual scripting exposed weaknesses in characterization. At the conclusion, I didn’t really care if the caterpillar (-butterfly metamorphosis) wish was fulfilled or not. Two and a half stars.
Very good australian movie, terrific acting, beautifully filmed and a very good sound track
an excellent australian movie.
A thought provoking Australian movie about relationships and overcoming the hurts of the past by the determined actions of the next generation.
Regrettably, the Bible was not understood by anyone. In it are the truths that will lead us to God and our most important relationship, one that gives us hope and a future.
slow at first but picks up as you keep watching
Enjoyable Aussie flick, but not outstanding. Picturesque small town drama of a teenage girl's search for her father and an explanation of her mother's icy estrangement from her parents. A bit familiar and a sense that an impacting ending was discarded in favour of a neater one leaving it all a bit wishy washy.
ok as far as Aussie movies go. Quite entertaining.
I enjoyed this australian movie, worth a look
l really enjoyed this movie - great Aussie film. Interesting characters and a good plot.
Victoria Thaine is just great, I am enjoying her acting on Rain Shadow, a new ABC series, as well. I thought the movie was well structured, written and acted. Australian drama goes from strength to strength!
an intriguing movie which gave promise of more than it delivered. Some good acting from the mother (Susan) and the daughter, though the constant bike riding was rather tedious. The further along the film went the looser it became until the end quite unravelled and became very untidy/ Pity -as it had the makings of something really good.
This was a very well acted movie. Nice little twist at the end removed the obvious. Also, Robe SA is a picturesque setting to add to the atmospehere of the film.
O what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive. Not a bad film, but a sad commentary on contemporary life!!
Always try to catch Australian movies but despite some good, solid acting performances, I was left a bit let down. An interesting storyline, lovely setting in Robe, SA, however the viewer was left a bit on their own to sort things out!
