Life is messy. Love is messier. After the sudden death of her fiancé, Gray Wheeler finds comfort in the company of his friends: lighthearted and comic Sam, hyper-responsible Dennis, and, oddly enough, his old childhood buddy Fritz, an irresponsible playboy whom she’d previously pegged as one of the least reliable people in the world. As secrets about her supposedly perfect fiancé emerge, Gray comes to see new sides of the man she thought she knew, and at the same time, finds herself drawn to the last man she ever expected to fall for.

Excellent viewing. Well acted by a top cast and great direction from a new director. Timothy Oliphant is seriously delicious - have to wonder why we don't see more of him.

An enjoyable movie with a few laughs, though not at that troublesome child.

I enjoyed this movie. Grey came to realise she wasn't perfect and that was okay.

a easy movie to watch, light hearted and funny in places, even though the theme was about a girl who had just lost her fiance, and then found that he had another girlfriend on the side,

1 star even from the wife. A silly disjointed storyline with some scenes that just aren't funny. The characters are superficial and poorly directed eg first time actor Kevin Smith overacts and is painfully over the top with his attempt at comedy. Also first time direction is obvious and detracts from the movie. Bottom line as a chick flick rom/com ..... dont bother

Didn't quite understand the storyline. Not bad for an afternoon viewing. Don't know why I chose this as I don't know the actors.

Catch and Release is an interesting and somewhat quirky take on the falling in love with someone who you think is not appropriate for you. It is a chick flick, romantic movie. Jennifer Garner character has some interesting things to cope with during the course of the movie. Recommended for those that like Jennifer Garner, romance or quirky movies.

Good movie, satisfyingly deep and funny. Fun to watch the emerging romance. Really enjoyed it, time well spent.

Nyeah. Okay, but don't waste 2 hours of your life unless you have the time to spare. Pleasant movie, not riveting or very believable

I'm not a fan of Jennifer Garner and this movie didn't help change my mind. Whilst the acting was so so, I thought the story line was weak to say the least. It didn't seem to have central theme. As a story it could have gone in any one of a number of directions. Frustratingly it did.

Worth watching for Jennifer Garner's sad and happy faces and what the friends do an don't do to help with the loss of their friend and her fiance.

Thought it was a lovely movie that touched on the grief a person may feel when losing someone they love in a lighthearted way. It also highlights how we sometimes never really know people. A very light hearted and funny movie that's an easy to watch movie - thoroughly enjoyed it.

I loved it, probably going to buy it so I can see it again. I do love chick flicks and I also love Jennifer Garner, and I think it delivered on both fronts. The supporting characters and of course Timothy Oliphant were also great, except for the "nice" guy who annoyed me.

The interaction between the cast members was interesting - why is it the "nice guy" never gets the girl?? The movie stirs up lots of competing emotions.
