Cassandra's Dream (2007)

Predictable plot, formulaic situations. There is no humor, no wit. It is a simplistic morality tale for Sunday school children, complete with implications of "crossing the line" established by a moral order in the universe. Its worst fault is being so superficial. Good score by Philip Glass.

A good story with great actors. No car chases or explosions, just a good solid Drama.

Oh dear. That was not very good. Maybe my expectations where too high?

Found it quite boring, kept watching and waiting for the film to pick up ... but i didn't was boring throughout.. Good acting by Will and Colin - shame it was a boring storyline..

Two great actors with a good support cast. Not a bad movie but vaguely familiar - I 've seen this story, or something like it, before but it's not a remake. Worth watching and there are enough surprises to keep you interested

Two of my favourite actors, Ewan McGregor and Colin Farrell are great in this movie, however, a typical Woody Allen film, has a very boring, drawn out storyline that is completely predictable. Pushing aside Ewan's Scottish accent and Colin's native Irish accent the men are believable as two English peas in a pod brothers who get themselves in an unspeakable pickle. Only worth a look if you're a fan of the actors.

I really liked this film. All major characters were played so well by accomplished actors. Ewen Macgregor and Colin Farrell always guarantee fine performances.and I was not disappointed.

Woody Allen in "Match Point" mode. Thoroughly enjoyable thriller with a great script, acting, photography and a faboulous score from Philip Glass. And this went straight to DVD in Australia???? Shame.

Excellent film, with two favourite actors playing the lead roles.

Neither my flatmate nor I managed to get past halfway before switching ... usually a great Colin Farrell fan, but this was just plain dreadful ... gave me an early night, 'cos we both almost fell asleep while watching - agree with the previous comments, multi-tasking is definitely recommended, or even better just plain ol' give it a miss and spend 2 hours having your toenails ripped out, it would be more entertaining and enjoyable! :/

Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor are excellent in this well scripted movie from Woody Allen. There is not one line too many, or any unnecessary brooding silences, just to the point story telling. Phillip Glasses' music adds to the atmosphere. An interesting study of greed, desperation and family ties.

A very odd Woody Allen movie... hardly any of the trademarks we've come to recognise in his work. Competently made of course, but I get the impression this was a duty assignment, perhaps to secure finance for other projects. It looks and feels like a British TV film, with a cast of well-known British faces... it's well-acted, and with the focus on remorse after the crime it's not just a run-of-the mill crime thriller, but it's ultimately unsatisfying. I also wondered how far these bumbling killers would have got after hanging around outside the victim's house in broad daylight, and arguing loudly in the street about whether to whack him there or not...

good film , not for everyone being a Woody Allen movie and all but still reccomend giving it a watch. Gritty, Suspensful and top notch acting.

Being a Woody Allen movie, of which, although very talented, I'm not generally a fan, this movie was better than expected. Not fast moving, but still kept me watching. Portrayed that money truly isn't everything.

A most unexpected masterpiece of a thriller, written and directed by, of all people, Woody Allen. Not a joke in the whole film, just tension and wondering how it will end. Is there a moral to the story? One wonders. The photography is excellent, the direction is excellent, the style and quality of the acting match the theme. And the ending? Well, can there be an ending? Probably not. Woody Allen did not give it an ending, and that is part of the genius of the film.

A Woody Allen film which was very pedestrian. He creates off centre realities but this time it just didn't work. Multi-tasking whilst watching is recommended !

Absolutely terrible. Turned if off after half an hour, don't waste your time.

Really ordinary, sat and did paperwork whilst it was on but can't say I would recommend it at all!

dissapointing, how could a good concept, be written, portrayed and acted so badly, none of the characters were believable, i think i could of done a better job with a few mates and a mobile phone camera, i highly doubt any of the participants will be mentioning this on their CV, unless you get any Cred by saying "i worked with Woody allen once" - don't bother, and you know why ? , cus they did'nt

There a huge disconnect between the words and phrases that the brothers are given to say and the sort of people they are trying to portray. It's rather like an American has tried to write a British script - oh! but that's true, I knew all along that Allen was the 'writer'. The story though is OK but a bit contrived - rather like the script - with a surprise ending - but by then, who cares?

Strong drama/morality tale, questions about meaning of existence.

Very Hitchcockian, thriller style morality tale about opportunities taken and their consequences. Beautifully shot in and around London. Colin Farrell gives a brilliant performace as the guilt ridden brother. The ending will surprise!

Very Very Good story, the boys' accents were great, acting a little strange, but it worked. Was it scripted? It seemed as though they made it up as they went along!

Splendid work from Woody Allen director. As always the dialogues are superb. I never saw Colin Farrell acting so well. I consider Cassandra's Dream as being near of Matching Point another Woody's film. Cassandra's Dream is somewhat a simple story with ordinary characters. It's intelligent and superbly directed. A story about lies, money and family. Is Woody Allen the master of Suspense?

Don't bother. Dreadful acting

I can't see why reviewers had difficulty with this film. I found it very involving and enjoyable. Ewan M. and Colin Farrell both acted quite well in my opinion, and the plot was engrossing.

I can't say I enjoyed this movie the story was just to weird it did send me to sleep.

Agreed - I read the paper while watching it...

I really enjoyed it, the characters were great in this movie lots of dialogue which i enjoy and a few twists in the end.

did not like this at all watched about the first half hour and that was enough found it very boring
