The decidedly dull first 40 minutes was rather like a documentary with Martin Scorsese as narrator explaining how the casino operated and how the mafia siphoned off most of the profit. There were a couple of minutes of excitement when two guys got hammered, one literally, and Sharon Stone threw some chips around in a tantrum. But that didn't upset the manager because a couple of scenes later they were at their wedding reception knocking back the champaign and the inevitable after-dinner speeches were about to begin. That's when I bailed out.

I enjoyed this film, and it is one of the mafia classics. Great for fans of The Sopranos, Goodfellas etc. It is long and at times wanders a bit from the plot to some showpieces on their lifestyle, however the overall story line is compelling. The violence is horrible at times and my wife said "why does he (Scorcese) make us watch this", but this kind of reality is required in this movie, to contrast against the luxuries owned by these characters, else you'll think they were happy. Killer performances from de Niro and Pesci and Stone.

A sensational movie with a great storyline (albeit a bit long) and a fantastic cast, but it keeps you interested the whole time. If you haven't seen it , don't wait any longer

Great story about the Mobs role in Las Vegas, both inside and outside of the casinos. Given that it's no surprise there were some very violent scenes - be prepared to cover your eyes at times if you're as squeamish as me.

Although this is a "Violent" DVD Movie it's a show that gives you insight and makes you wonder. "What really goes on in Las Vegas" De Niro plays an excellent role as for Pesci is his offsider it's a move that is more suited for people whom don't mind "hard" violence and Sexual scenes

If you hate violence, don't rent. If you can look past it or enjoy it, this movies fantastic. Its depressing, its got drama, and you'll be on the edge of your seat waiting for it to all unfold.

De Niro and Scorsese. Pesci as the head case. Sounds familiar but wonderfully realised corporate gangster flick. Sharon Stone steals lots of scenes. A classic.
