It's Bridget Jones meets The Omen in this totally implausible story of social worker Renee coming across devil-child Lily, and finding out the child is not as innocent as we first thought. Some nice scary touches, but really we've seen it all before (check out Orphan for a similar-themed movie).

This is a movie that clearly shows where some of today's youth is heading! Only Americanized. Which is quite influnential considering we look to the US of A for leadership (not) I pray in this way. Sandra Bullock as a tough cop with her own demons trying to solve the case. Yes! I enjoyed the story and so would most with a stunning cast . Ryan Gosling who has gone on to do so much more.(Driver) Cute and thought provoking in essence.

Interesting story, but one we've seen before. It was creepy rather than scary - had some good bits but overall I was dissapointed.

Wow - not many movies that keep my attention these days but don't think I even blinked for the whole of this movie. Not at all what I expected, probably should have had better description on it though so I didn't give it to my 13

Renee Zellweger was brilliant in this movie as always and the little girl 'Lillith' certainly has an unnevering pressence about her. A some what predictable story line but plenty of suspence with twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. Wouldn't hesitate to recommened this movie to lovers of suspence thrillers.

A surprise movie - a movie that you read the back and go 'oh, its about a social worker and a kid'. It takes only a couple of minutes before you are sucked in and perched on the front of your couch. SCARY!! They have done an excellent job of being scary and suspenseful. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed this movie although it was very easy to work out who was the problem right from the start.

Not sure if it's because i watched this by myself at night- but i found this really scary!! Not gory- just purely unpredictable, and tense. Kind of like the grudge, and ring...

One of the worst movies I've ever seen!

This movie had fantastic twists and surprise plots in the movie and surprisingly, Renee was excellent in her role. A great suspense filled thriller.

A good suspensful psychological thriller movie, one that keeps you watching to the end because of the unexpected twists and turns. Great acting from the "innocent little girl" and Renee Zellweger is always a natural and totally believable in any role she plays. Some scenes seemed far fetched, but then you think to yourself, well, that's feasible. If you were at your wits end, and totaly driven by events, and everyone thought you're going a little nuts, especially when you are trying to tell them the truth about this innocent little girl! You would think that there's no oher way out, but to rid yourself of this evil, that only you can do, then you would probably stoop to these methods. I always think after watching a film of this genre that there's more to tell. I want to find out how the characters survive something like this in their lives. How do they continue with their daily lives? Do they just pick up where they left off? Do they change careers totally? Do they trust "little innocent girls again"..they're changed forever! What would take place in their lives? When a film leaves you asking questions at the end, it comes down to a good storyline/script to begin with!

Thoroughly enjoyed I was scared at every twist

An enjoyable thriller with a supernatural component, while still having that 'real life' atmosphere. Apart from some unrealistic 'convenient' things like a ladder being available right when its needed, and murderous psychiatric pateints with easy access to metal forks, it's still and entertaining and scary film.

Renee Zellweger was great in a thriller role. The little girl was just creepy. This movie sent chills down my spine. A great thriller!

You know how sometimes someone in Hollywood has an idea and then a thousand people copy it? Thats what this movie is. It has been done before and it has been done A LOT better. If u want to see a good movie with a similar subject I suggest Joshua: The Devil's Child. That one is actually well written and will scare u and make u think twice about having children. :-) Case 39 is a pathetic second rate retelling of an idea that has been done to death, and hasn't one iota of originallity. A pointless waste of time.

Demon possessed child, not my cup of tea!!

Pretty average. Started out ok but then became a little silly after around 20 minutes.

Brillant horror/thriller is about a socal worker who rescues the apprant victim of child abuse and finds out that the girl she recused is more then she appears to be. Brillantlly acted by all and a special mention to the girl that plays Lily as unlike some evil kids who overact it a bit she plays it very well and def has a promising carrer when shes older. The direction may had taken the idea from a Charmed villian but they use the materal well and there some decent jump scenes and its terrflying when Lily shows her true face and nature. Nothing overly gory but some decent CGI and a death by wasps that has to be seen to be belived. The film ends decently as well but at the same time its kinda open like other films that ended that way. But despite that its a decent horror/thriller and is worth a rental and view.

I had no idea what this film was about...So when it turned scary, I was pleasently surprised! creepy film, loved it!!!

This movie had my grown up kids in a 'tizz'!! it was so much more than was described,twisting suspence with horror and some very much in your face before you even realise or suspect its coming. riviting viewing, one you don't want to watchto the end but have too see it through to find out which way it will take you. some graphic scenes, definitely for more mature teens+.

Oh Renee!!!!!! WTF is up with this movie??? Total crap! They should STOP hyping up shit movies like this one! A total dog of a film!

Good classic, demonic child movie , definitely a good fright, liked it a lot even though Renee has trouble showing much emotion on her face too botoxed out lol, she must be an alright actress that said because she still had me scared for her despite frozen face. Good movie

Renee is very good in this movie as the soft spoken social worker. She rescues the young girl from her abusive parents without spoiling the plot she gets a little bit more than what she bargained for . This movie is well worth a watch!
