A classic - just to see Spencer Tracy's performance as Manuel the Portugese fisherman is worthwhile, however there were tremendous supporting actors, especially young Freddie Bartholomew and Lionel Barrymore. Sure the film has technical flaws when compared with today's movies - however the quality of the movie-making is amazing considering it occurred over 70 years ago.
