In an effort to escape her murky past and build a better future, Olive (Milla Jovovich), a nomadic con-artist and her 10 year old son, Bobby, find themselves living in Oklahoma. Olive enrols Bobby in school, makes him do his homework and tries her hardest to be a good mother and with the help of an old friend, Walt (Rory Cochrane), Olive "provides" for Bobby in the only way she knows how.

But despite her efforts (or perhaps because of them), Bobby displays troubling behaviour both at his school and in their conservative neighbourhood. This was a disappointing movie. It was only one of the few which I couldn`t watch to the end. The acting & plot were poor.

Disappointing film overall. Plot very basic and predictable. Would not recommend, though a good performance from the boy in the film.

Lame. I watched to the end hoping there would be something that would make it interesting, but not to be. There was nothing entertaining about this movie. It wasn't serious - funny - sad - NOTHING.

Disappointing. Milla Jovovich is absolutely gorgeous all the way through but unfortunately, the storyline was so far-fetched and ridiculous that the film left me feeling like I'd just wasted an hour and a half of my life waiting for something plausible to occur.

Starts out as a reasonable story, but at about the halfway mark starts to become a bit unbelievable (you apparently have to adopt out your child if you go to prison for 9 months! Ever heard of Foster Care?). Overall worth a watch if you aren't expecting too much!
