My 10 yr old son wanted to watch this after seeing part of it on TV. Both he and his 13 yr old brother enjoyed it.

This was a great movie. Many old movies are very slow. This is an exception in that it is a reasonable pace.

Remember this is war time. The Japanese would have used most of their good men elsewhere. So it would not take much to make a mistake about the position of the bridge.

Not to compare with recent movies. I think storyline, effect, acting, shock effect, cruelty... it was decent.

A true classic. When you sit down and really listen to what is going on this film totally captures you. The scenery was beautiful too.

Good movie recalling the futility of POW work in SE Asia in World War II. Alec Guinness once again puts in a fine performance. Worth watching if you haven't seen it.

Good classic. I don't usually like war movies, but this one is about people surviving and helping each other. Good example of principles and human being.

This is one of the best movies I have had the pleasure of watching. In fact I would rate it between 4 and 5. I realise it is not 100% historically - but the acting was magnificent and the scenery outstanding. I would recommend it to anyone.

One of my favourites! Psychological battle between captive & captor. Nicholson is excellent as the viewer's emotions move from respect through hate to pity & sadness. If youy like this genre of move, dont miss this one!
