Like mcfrood its good to see the relevance of William Wallace in Scottish History despite the inaccuracies. If you ever go to Scotland they still talk about him as a hero.

This is still a great enjoyable film, however as a bit of a history nerd the more I find out about how historically inaccurate this movie was, the less I have enjoyed it. And the funny thing is, that the true history of William Wallace was just as exciting and action packed, so why Mel Gibson and co seemed to feel the need to so rewrite history is beyond me. But it's still a fun ride.

an epic movie has love, fights, humour, emotions, the characters are realistic.... This movie is EPIC.
I dont know about the accuracy of the history, but who cares...
Nothing should stand in the way of a good story! ;-)

Thoroughly enjoyed this from start to finish. Gave me goosebumps, got me sweating, shed a tear, and was on the edge of my seat. While some of the history surrounding him is a bit wishy washy, this version made me want to fight for my freedom.

A very inspirational story except historically incorrect. I guess such heroism does not exist in reality. Mel Gibson gave a good performance but his accent is weak especially in stark contrast with the other characters.

Not a bad movie but definitely overrated. It almost totally sacrifices historical accuracy for epic adventure. They didn?t even wear kilts at that time period!

Not a bad movie. Sweeping vistas, if somewhat dreary (being set in Scotland and all) are beauitfully shot. Intricate story melded expertly with visceral action sequences make for a very entertaining couple of hours.
