Wow this is really a good flick. Loved it in the 80s and still love it now. The retro soundtrack is not a killer but gosh the addiction depicted in this is brilliant. The fx looks old yep but still look impressing. A small low budget that would have deserved 4 stars but because of the permanent keyboard as a soundtrack, I ll give it a 3.

What a peculiar little film. I have seen all three Basket Case films so i wouldn't be surprised if this entire film was written and directed by acid tripping crew. The voice of the little worm thing is quite eerie but suits it well. Expect b-grade 80's dialogue with cheesy SFX and countless amounts of fake blood. But don't get me wrong, it is fun to watch if thats what you're after. Pure Cheese.

Enough people who comment on or review the horror genre I so love have recommended this so I had to get over my resistance to it. Went in to the film with even more good will when I saw the Basket Case connection. Yeah it's good Frank Henenlotter can structure a film with skill but the slow reveal was done better in Basket Case and there were just to many of the same conventions used. Good back story though and the apperance of Duane and his Basket was a treat showing the director is not afraid to shy away from self reference, almost aknowleding the similarities. Just a pity this was not as brilliant as the predecesor.

Excellant horror/comedy is about a man called Brian who is chosen by a wisecracking worm who feeds him juice but also eats human brains. His brother and girlfriend try to help when things get out of hand. The acting is well done by all but a tad too much screaming for my liking. The direction like Basket case shows New Yorks more infamous side rather nicely and balances horror and comedy nicely. Being the Uncut and unrated version an extra 2 mins of gore is added and its quite strong thu rather dated by todays gory standards. The effects are brill with a convincing yet cute monster and plenty of blood and gore which might make non-horror fans sick. But alas things turn silly right at the end but apart from that its excellant and def worth a view and rental for horror fans as it is a cult classic now.
