Some scary scenes

Directors: Chris Williams, Byron Howard
Actors: John Travolta, Miley Cyrus, Susie Essman, Malcolm McDowell, Greg Germann, James Lipton, Nick Swardson, Chloe Moretz

For super-dog Bolt (John Travolta), every day is filled with adventure, danger and intrigue - at least until the cameras stop rolling. When the star of a hit TV show is accidentally shipped from his Hollywood sound stage to New York City, he begins his biggest adventure yet - a cross-country journey through the real world. Armed only with the delusions that all his amazing feats and powers are real, and with the help of two unlikely travelling companions: a jaded, abandoned house cat named Mittens (Susie Essman) and a TV-obsessed hamster in a plastic ball named Rhino (Mark Walton), Bolt discovers he doesn't need superpowers to be a hero.

Great animation, an enjoyable story. The opening scenes were a lot more violent and scary (for my young kids) than I had expected, which didn't quite fit with the rest of the movie (especially since it wasn't clear at the start that the rest of the movie would be different)

This movie is great. My son loved it. The story itself is one of adventure and love, and finding where you belong. It's funny and different from the rest. The music made it quite the feel-good movie.

A very cute children's movie (I watched it even though I am an adult). No swearing, no violence, and a really good message.

Not bad - my son lost interest in it part way through, although he tuned in again at the ending. I think we've been spoilt watching some excellent animation lately including Up and this isn't quite on that level.

Lots of fun for what I think is probably not a very well known animated feature. Plenty in here for kids and adults alike, with a good message and pmety of laughs and action. The hamster really does steal the show, but we also enjoyed Bolt getting taught how to be a proper dog. Good fun.

A really good movie for the whole family to watch. There is plenty in it that both the kids and the adults laughed at, even if they weren't laughing at the same thing.

Pretty ordinary to start with, but really got fun when Rhino (the hamster in the plastic ball brilliantly voiced by Mark Walton) arrived on the scene. Mittens, the cat, is well done by Susie Essman.

Wonderful kids movie, with the message that nothing is what it seems, especially in the movies, but the love between dogs and humans IS real! Excellent movie, especially for children, kid-at-heart and adult animal-lovers

Bolt gives you 85% of a Pixar production. Will it stand the test of time like a Pixar production? Not sure, but there are enough laugh out loud moments, cute characters and really beautiful backgrounds and animation for repeat viewings. The best part is the homage to the Matrix freeway chase scene which merits a couple of rewinds. Highly recommended.

Thunderbark!! I adored this movie...more so than my 8 year old. I want the hamster ("I'll just go and get my ball") and cried when Bolt saved the girl from the burning building (yes I know it's a cartoon). Kudos to all involved. JT is awesome. A joy from start to end. A note on the scary scene - my daughter was really scared by the green-eyed man character and needed some reassurance/explanation.
