I loved this movie! Over the top acting, over the top and completely unrealistic blood, gore and violence, bad mullets.... What more can you ask for in a vampire movie?

man this movie sucks on all levels. wooden acting, dodgy sets, dire costuming, diabolical dialogue and paint by numbers plot. not even in the so bad that it is good school.

predictable and boring

Absolutely woeful! What was Ben Kingsley thinking? Or Billy Zane? Or ANY of them? This wasn't one of those 'so bad it's good' films - it was so bad that every copy should be destroyed! Please, PLEASE don't waste your time. I wish I hadn't.

There is no real reason this movie had to be a heap of trash, since the story itself is reasonable. Shocking production values, script and directing and a wooden performance from the central character, as well as the worst fight scenes; it doesn???t even make good tele-movie status. Michelle Rodiguez stands out as the only one who cared enough to put some effort in. Watch it if you are stranded somewhere and it???s the only movie you have.

Having subtitles would have been great, as sometimes the actors mumbled and you couldnt understand with the accents what they were saying. Otherwise, it was a enjoyable movie

Maybe - Bad!

I was expecting more from this movie, quite a few good actors but few good moments. I just felt the story was a little weak. Excessive high pressure blood spraying all over the place and then a recap of all of these shots at the end was distasteful.

Haha, blood lust. Actually I enjoyed this in a 'it's a vampire movie' kind of way. Don't take it seriously and don't bother comparing it to the game. Good fun, thanks Uwe.

First, you have to like the blood suckers, second, you have to like medieval, third blood, guts and gore, fourth, you have to like sword play, if you can dig all of that you have a chance of liking it. l don't think it's a classic, it's hard to explain but something was not quite right about it, a little slow at times maybe a little B grade at times. l think Uma would have done a better job on the sword play. The extras are not flash, it looks a little low budget but l made it to the end and was happy enough. lt's for vampire fans only l'd say.

I have played Blood Rayne on the PS2 game against the evil Germany axis. This story is not really based on the game, completely different. I all most forgot, it should have moster and bad scientist in this movie.

my god! i didn't think they could make such a great idea for a movie into such a debarcle. they took a wonderful idea for a fast-paced vampire movie, a great cast & gave the script to a porn script writer to create & made a pretty crap movie. don't waste your time.

This movie was absolutely pathetic. There was no real story line, the plot was poor, as too was the acting. Don't bother to select this one because you will be disappointed.

This movie is absolute rubbish. The effects are 3rd rate and the plot, what little there is, loses track constantly.

The game was better than this. This movie did none of the actors any justice.

terrible. fake, passable story line.

Waste of time, Michelle Rodriguez could do better. Acting was so fake, they could have at least improvised a bit. The sword fighting was bad, the sex scene was too fake and the directing was just wrongtown. Sad to see actors like Be Kingsley and Matt Davis take on these roles. I feel for their pain of not finding work...

One of the worst movies ever. Don't waste your time. read a book instead.

Dreadful! What on earth was Ben Kingsley thinking when agreeing to appear in this B grade movie. Consign this to the rubbish heap

The scenery was nice and the storyline wasn't too bad but pretty much everything else was pretty poor. Whomever directed this didn't do a good job at all. The story didn't flow and seemed to skip bits and pieces. The fight scenes were hopless with exaggerated blood spurts. If you're desperate and just want a vampire movie then go for it, otherwise don't bother.

What was I thinking? Only hire this if you like "B" grade, gore special effects however lead actress was cute

Hmmm. Some girl power satisfaction. Lots of blood & gore that does not make up for tenuous plot line. If you liked Halle Berry's CAT WOMAN you may like this.

Not worth to watch

gothic type of vampire movie with lots of blood and guts.

Literally so bad its hilarious. Medieval warriors pretend to chop up prone enemies with expressions on their faces that look like they are digging dirt. And that's probably the least of the problems.

I decided to watch this after even after hearing mostly negative reviews, mostly because I am a fan of the 2 Bloodrayne games. There is some poor acting, and not as much gore as one would expect after seeing the games, nor were the effects of all types very good, and sometimes the storyline isn't very continuous, but it did actually have a storyline. Otherwise its just an average movie, nothing really special, or different. Just another vampire flick if you haven't played the games. If you have, well, it'll probably be a disappointment, as Loken doesn't play Bloodrayne anything much like the games.

This is a strange one. It's like a high-budget B-movie. The special effects (especially the blood) is B-grade stuff, but they have a couple big names in it. It could have been good if they didn't take themselves to seriously. Unfortunately the only good thing about this is the gratuitous nudity.

Complete waste of time

I understand you can not put too much gore into a vampire movie, but there were scenes that were so unrealistic it was almost a joke. The game is much better than the movie.

if you like action and if you like blood and action then yes its for you keep in mind that in my opion the story line wasnt so crash hot though but its still a great movie for blood and gory

Plenty of blood and guts. Highly dramatised. Not for children.

Disappointing because with the cast of Ben Kingsley, Michael Masdon and Billy Zane I expected a much better film. The storyline was quite good and the acting wasn't bad but I found the production just didn't come together to live up to it's potential. Michael Masdon seemed uncomfortable in the role of good guy playing a leader and mentor when he does so many bad boy parts. Ben Kingsley was disappointing also as the villian, a role he usually does so well. Billy Zane was excellent and so was the girl playing Catherine. The fighting scenes with the main character, Rayne, were not coordinated well and I just couldn't believe them. Catherine's fight scenes were excellent and believable. But overall I liked it. I was just a tad disappointed because it had the potential to be really good.
