Try as he might, Cliff Starkey (Paul Kaye) just can’t keep out of trouble. In his sleepy hometown on the English coast, nothing much inspires him... apart from bowls. Cliff dreams of playing for his country, but has always preferred following his own rules much to the disapproval of the stuck up local bowls club. When Rick Schwartz (Vince Vaughn), a slick American sports agent, takes Cliff under his wing, the bad boy of bowls’ rock ‘n roll attitude and outrageous hero antics soon turn him into a national icon, with hysterical results. Also starring James Cromwell, Alice Evans and comedian Johnny Vegas, Blackball is a hilarious British comedy that will quite literally bowl you over!

Terrible. I cannot believe someone paid to make this movie. Forget it.

Pretty average, entertaining enough though.

If you like british comedy, you will probably like Blackball, provided you don't have too high expectations.

A humourous account of the game of bowls and the tight culture of the sport.

Possibly enough amusing segments to justify the viewing. A heavy handed approach though with almost singular use of exaggerated cliches. Not a c-a-k-r-a-k.

It was a "tosser" between maybe and worth watching. Fairly predictable, but some amusing parts.

Others may vote otherwise but i loved it, maybe because i thought it would be a, "Crackerjack!" rip-off but was pleasantly surprised, que it up for an easy laugh.
